Rally resolves to protect mother tongue

PANAJI: A massive rally of Goans at Azad Maidan, on Wednesday, resolved that the Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch be made into a permanent platform to protect and promote Indian languages and culture in Goa and to defeat the evil designs of vested interests to de-culture and de-link the state from the Indian mainstream.

The rally further demanded that the present grant-in-aid policy for primary schools from standard I to IV should continue, without any change, to be in sync with the provisions of the Right to Education Act 2009; the time honoured educational policy of the state government on giving grants-in-aid to private English and other language medium secondary schools (Std V to X) should continue permanently and details be discussed with the central government to fit the state policy within the frame work of RTE Act 2009.

Demanding that the government should henceforth refuse recognition to private English medium primary schools and make it mandatory for existing English medium primary schools to teach at least two subjects through Konkani, Marathi or other Indian languages, the people felt that the government should put a ban on registration of English play schools and pre-primary schools and make it mandatory for the schools already registered to shift to the Indian languages within a given time-frame.

In the end, the rally felt that all Goans, irrespective of religion, caste and language should be proud of their Indian origin, Indian languages and Indian culture and defeat all attempts of vested interests to undermine the Indian identity of Goa.

"We do not want to divide the people of the state on language barriers, but need to keep this unity intact and aspire for what we have gathered here today and get our mission fulfilled,’’ stated the president of the Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch and former chief minister, Ms Shashikala Kakodkar. While expressing happiness over the huge gathering at the venue of the rally, Ms Kakodkar said that her heart goes out for the women who have come for the cause of their children and added that this is not the end of the language issue but the beginning of it.

Konkani protagonist and former editor of Sunaprant, Mr Uday Bhembre, in his strongly worded speech said: "If you want to be global by learning English then go to England or United States and sleep there on the streets, we don’t mind. But, we will not allow you to destroy our culture and uproot our identity and languages for the sake of employment.’’

Mr Bhembre further said that education is governed by certain norms and only educationists have the right to decide about the education policy and medium of instruction.

While the chief of Marathi Academy, Mr Narendra Azgaonkar said that we do not want to burden the children, so we should have the elementary education in mother tongue.

A Konkani writer, Mr N Shivdas said that it is a historic movement and we need to be alert as our mother tongue is in a danger.

"We will never allow elementary education through English at all costs. We are nationalists. Neither we will allow grants to be given to English medium schools nor will we allow to destroy Indian languages,’’ Mr Naguesh Karmali, freedom fighter and poet said while addressing the rally. Mr Bhiku Pai Angle said, "we have to remain united and fight for our mother tongue by remaining awake. What we see today, is due to our own faults."

Fr Mousinh Ataide asked the people to take vow that they would protect Indian languages as they are at present in throes of crisis and demanded that henceforth no permissions should be given to English medium schools.

The Sahitya Akademy Award winner, Mr Pundalik Naik, said that Chinese, Japanese and German people did not die for the want of English, instead, they prospered and progressed with the help of their own languages.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Avind Bhatikar said that he studied in mother tongue and could still pass IAS exam.

Mr Anil Samant, Mr Prashant Naik, Mr Mohandas Nadkarni, Mr Subhash Velingkar and Ms Swati Kerkar were among those who spoke on the occasion.

अत्यंत तेजस्वी व्यक्तिमत्त्व लाभलेल्या श्री. भागवत यांनी आपल्या ओघवत्या व प्रखर भाषणांत भारताच्या भवितव्याचा चौफेर आढावा घेतला. देशाच्या सुरक्षेपेक्षा मतपेढीचे राजकारण जेव्हा वरचढ ठरू लागते तेव्हा देशावर संकटांची गडद छाया पसरू लागते. आज बांगलादेशातून मोठ्या प्रमाणात घुसखोर भारतात दाखल झाले आहेत. आसाम राज्यावर त्यांनी केलेले अतिक्रमण पाहता हे राज्य भारतात राहील की नाही याबाबतच संशय घेण्याची परिस्थिती निर्माण झाली आहे. गोव्यातही हे घुसखोर शिरले आहेत. त्यांना हेरून, रेशनकार्डे व मतदार यादीतून त्यांची नावे वगळून त्यांना परत त्यांच्या देशात पाठवणे हेच सर्वांच्या हिताचे होईल, असेही ते म्हणाले. आपण मुत्सद्देगिरी सोडून केवळ शांततेच्या बाता मारीत बसलो आहोत तर तिथे चीन अत्यंत नियोजनपूर्वक आपल्या साम्राज्याचा विस्तार करतो आहे. युद्ध सोडाच पण निदान मुत्सद्देगिरीच्या बळावर तरी त्याचा हा डाव हाणून पाडण्याकडे लक्ष द्या, असा सल्लाही त्यांनी यावेळी केला. एकीकडे भावनात्मक राष्ट्रीय एकात्मतेच्या गोष्टी करणे व दुसरीकडे मात्र संविधानाला अमान्य असलेली धार्मिक राखीवता राबवून मतांचे राजकारण करणे हे देशाला घातक ठरेल, असे स्पष्ट मतही त्यांनी वेळी जाहीर केले.
देशात हिंदूंची संख्या रोडावत चालल्याने एकामागोमाग एक समस्या उद्भवत आहेत. सगळ्यांना सामावून घेणारे एकच सूत्र म्हणजे हिंदुत्व. याच हिंदुत्वामुळे विश्वभरात भारत देशाला प्रतिष्ठा प्राप्त झाली आहे. आज देशभरात संघाच्या सुमारे चाळीस हजार शाखा आहेत. संघ हा नेहमीच देशाचा विचार करतो व त्या अनुषंगानेच वावरतो. संघाच्या वर्णनावर जाऊ नका, त्यात गफलत होऊ शकेल पण प्रत्यक्ष अनुभव घेतला तरच संघाच्या कार्याची ओळख पटेल. संघाच्या शाखेत सहा महिने किंवा वर्षभर सहभागी व्हा. इथे काहीही छुपेपणाने चालत नाही तर सर्व व्यवहार पारदर्शकपणे चालतो. संघाचा अनुभव घेऊन मगच खात्री करा व नंतर संघात राहायचे की नाही हे ठरवा. संघाचे सहयोगी कार्यकर्ता म्हणूनही देशकार्यात भाग घेण्याची मोकळीक आहे व देशबांधणीस त्याची गरज असल्याचे ते म्हणाले. आपला देश वाचवायचा असेल तर समाजाला सक्रिय करण्याशिवाय अन्य पर्याय नाही, असा निर्वाणीचा सल्लाही त्यांनी यावेळी दिला.
प्रा. सुभाष वेलिंगकर यांनी सुरुवातीस प्रास्ताविक केले. गोव्यात संघाची स्थापना होऊन ४८ वर्षे झाली. गोवा राज्य संघाला पन्नास वर्षे पूर्ण होत असताना येथील प्रत्येक शाखा बळकट, गुणात्मक, मजबूत बनवण्याकडेच कल असेल, असेही त्यांनी सांगितले. त्यांनीच शेवटी उपस्थितांचे आभार मानले.

Unity in diversity holds key to national integration: Bhagwat

PANAJI: Stating that national integration is possible only through unity in diversity as experienced by India, the Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Mr Mohan Bhagwat on Wednesday said that this thought is the essence of Hindutva as well as religion of all Indians, and it can provide Indians with fulfilment in life.

The RSS chief, presently on the Goa visit, while addressing a gathering of 5,000 swayamsevaks or volunteers in the city, during a ‘Prakat Boudhik’, said the life on the entire planet is endangered due to the pleasure-centred lifestyle followed by majority of humans, further suggesting that the age-old Indian culture advising humans to coexist with nature is the solution to this grave problem.
“Like nature, the diversity in human life can bring together mankind,” he added.
Speaking further, Mr Bhagwat said that extremism breeds ego and ego results in rivalry. “Humans can coexist in spite of following different religion as well as God and diverse lifestyles,” he observed, stressing on the need for a value system that will protect the planet. Though India contributed towards science, technology and philosophy on the global level, there exists no example showing that the country attacked any religion, at any point of time, the RSS chief said, pointing out that Hindus are being given step-motherly treatment. He also noted that the RSS has never undertaken any project for self-benefit, and is currently handling as many as 1.45 lakh projects in every possible sector, for the public welfare.
Speaking about the Indian political scenario, the RSS chief demanded immediate deportation of residents of Bangladesh, who are patronised in Assam in particular and other parts of the country in general, for vote-bank purpose. He bemoaned the plight of countless Kashmiri Pundits, who have been forced to vacate their native state by the terror groups, and lamented that the government is totally ignoring their pathetic condition.
Mr Bhagwat finally appealed to the public to join the RSS, and understand the work undertaken by Sangh.
The leader of the opposition, Mr Manohar Parrikar, the North Goa MP, Mr Shripad Naik, the chief of the Goa unit of RSS, Mr Subhash Velingkar, the Mapusa MLA, Mr Francis D’Souza, the Pernem MLA, Mr Dayanand Sopte, the state Congress general-secretary, Mr Vishnu Wagh and the member of the Entertainment Society of Goa, Mr Vishal Pai Cacode were present at the public address of Mr Bhagwat.
Earlier in the day, the RSS chief placed a wreath on the Martyrs Memorial at Azad Maidan and offered homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their life to liberate the region from the colonial rule. He also received guard of honour from the RSS volunteers, who marched through the city streets and assembled at Campal ground.

Vote bank politics a security threat: RSS

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat today said that the vote bank politics is taking its toll on national security.
Addressing a gathering of swayamsevaks (volunteers) at Panjim Gymkhana grounds, Bhagwat said that India is under threat from its neighbours Bangladesh, Pakistan and China.
“There are crores of Bangladeshis infiltrating in Assam and one wonders whether the State will remain part of India considering that Bangladesh’s vision document clearly states that there is shortage of land in that country and they want to extend their borders in Assam,” he said.
“Bangladeshis illegally staying in India should be sent back to their countries even by canceling their names from ration card and electoral roll, if required,” he said.
Bhagwat said that there is provision in the law to form internment camps for these illegal people to shelter them before being deported to their parent country.
“The government should at least now act against illegal migration by keeping aside their vote bank politics or else the day will come when they will get muscles in the political system,” he warned.
Apart from Bangladesh, he said India is facing threat from Pakistan as well as China.
“Even after 26/11 Pakistan has failed to act against the terrorist groups acting from their land and India has done nothing to thwart this threat,” he said adding “….by now we should have thought them a lesson but our government thinks otherwise.”
He said China is also improving its bilateral relations with all our neighbours and also captured our land in North Eastern States.
“Why doesn’t government act on these things?” he asked.
“The vote bank politics is taking a toll on nation’s security,” he said adding “Only Hindutva can save this country.”
He boasted that RSS cadres rushed to the rescue in any kind of natural calamities or tragedies before even police or other government machinery can reach.
“This is because of the strong feeling to serve the country, which is nurtured in the heart of a swayamsevak,” he said.
“Join RSS and be the part of groups, who are ready for self sacrifice for the country,” he appealed.

Demand an explanation for terrorist attacks from leaders who govern the country

Panvel 24feb., “Why India has been a repeated target of terrorist attacks? Why terrorism is not tackled at the roots itself? Who is responsible for these terrorist attacks?” People of this country should pose these questions before the leaders whom we have empowered to govern the country,’’ appealed Smita Salaskar, wife of late Vijay Salaskar and Shirish Karkare, brother of late Hemant Karkare here today.

Smita Salaskar, wife of the late encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar and Shirish Karkare, brother of the late ATS chief Hemant Karkare addressed the audience as chief guests in an open programme arranged on the occasion of Rashtraraksha Ninand Ghosh Shibir organized by the Konkan Pranta of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh at Karnala Sports Academy on February 22. The noted singer and music director Shridhar Phadke who was the chief of the three-day camp welcomed the chief guests. In his inaugural speech he said, “Music is very close to human life. Music can effectively portray happy and tragic moments in life and it also has tremendous power to inspire society. Veer rasa rousing patriotic feelings among masses is necessary today for national security.” Delightful demonstrations presented by 770 participants (ghosh vadaks) set the mood of the programme.

Smita Salaskar maintained in her speech, “I don’t take pride in calling myself ‘veer patni’, because the very fact that my husband was the victim of terrorists who were illiterate and some ordinary people who could handle guns --is extremely disgraceful to the national security of the country. How many more veer mata and veera patni do we want? Everybody should readily perform one’s duty if such a danger has to be avoided in future”. She further added that organizations like the RSS would inspire people to perform their duties. Shirish Karkare, brother of martyr Heman Karkare shared some memories of late Hemant Karkare and expressed that every citizen should understand one’s responsibility and perform one’s duty honestly. He mentioned, ‘’The late Hemant Karkare had very high hopes from the youngsters of the country. After witnessing the Rashtriya Ninand Shibir, I am hopeful that the committed youngsters of this country can perform many things in future. This Ghosh Shibir is the very embodiment of patriotic fervour. Families are becoming smaller and smaller in today’s age of globalization. In future the middle class people would have to bare the responsibility of performing national duty. The organization like the RSS can nourish such feelings,” he added. Vaishali Ombale, daughter of martyr police constable Ombale also spoke on the occasion.

Bhaiyyaji Joshi, Saha Sarkaryavaha RSS appealed the audience to preserve national safety and told the citizens to be prepared to destroy the evil tendencies in the society. He totally agreed with the opinions expressed by Karkare and Salaskar but he maintained that these feelings should be supported by positive action. He opined that India had experienced such challenges even before and positive strength of this country had successfully retaliated against it. It is wrong that today Hindu society is blamed as terrorist. Hindus were never terrorists and would never be terrorists in future. This country has always excelled in giving something to others. The internal security of India is indeed a matter of concern but more alarming is the threat of attacks from outside. Infiltration in border areas is the major challenge before the country. China is trying to increase its dominance over Arunachal Pradesh. To tackle this problem it is necessary to take support of International law and power of weapons. Today too much importance is given to politics and power game. It is sad that powers from outside play important roles in deciding the prime minister or president of the country. Adivasi and vanavasi people are forced to convert to Christianity by using money. Every citizen should readily take some responsibility in tackling these challenges before the country. The government should do its duties and people should be conscious and alert in performing their duties and responsibilities. Hindus can be patient and tolerant only up to some limit and there is no need to teach lessons of humanity to them,’’ he maintained. “If the country has to face the challenge of problems like national security and conversion then the society should be more organized and media should play an important role in giving positive publicity to such organized work”, he added.

Sati Pratha is a favorite topic among Hindu-bashers. As soon as they are questioned about the validity of their own claims, goals and methods they immediately start harping on Sati Pratha.

And lo! The trick works. The questioning Hindu becomes defensive. He never tries to probe into the origin of so-called Sati Pratha, or at least about its rumors. So, let us try to do it here, what the typical-Hindu always refrains to.

Sati Pratha is nowhere mentioned in Hindu scriptures. Not a hint of it. There is no case of forceful widow burning in any of our scriptures. They with their mission of converting the wretched idolaters, i.e., Hindus to Christianity started slandering Hinduism. For they quickly perceived that Hindus were an unyielding, staunch lot. They would not yield to the treacherous methods of Christian Missionaries. So they devised a new way for accomplishing their Harvest. They decided to slander Hinduism in front of Hindus, so as to shake their belief in it, and also in front of global community so as to justify their demonic agendas of Conversion. And for that they had a new tool in their hands to which Hindus had no access. This tool was the combined institution of Modern British Education System and the newly born media, i.e., the propaganda machine. (How they developed these mediums in India is another topic, related to Macaulay and many others and too long to be discussed here).

So, they started their well-planned campaign against Hinduism. A very good example of this is the English word “Juggernaut”, meaning, “a huge and overwhelming force”. It is originated form the Rath Yatra of Jagganath. Christian Missionaries said that there goes one evil Yatra among Hindus, in which wretched idolaters take out a procession of three idols. In the Yatra, they take intoxicating drugs, dance nude in front of the chariot, make obscene gestures to each other and then in a fit throw themselves in front of the chariot to commit suicide. Hence, the word with its meaning of an “overwhelming force”.

Swami Vivekanand also mentions this at one place along with many other calumnies heaped over Hinduism and Hindu civilization by the designing Christian Missionaries. Here is an excerpt of that, “What is meant by those pictures in the school-books for children where the Hindu mother is painted as throwing her children to the crocodiles in the Ganga ? The mother is black, but the baby is painted white, to arouse more sympathy, and get more money. What is meant by those pictures, which painted a man burning his wife at a stake with his own hands, so that she may become a ghost and torment the husband’s enemy? What is meant by the pictures of huge cars crushing over human beings? I have heard one of these gentlemen preach in Memphis that, in every village of India , there is a pond of the bones of little babies… What have the Hindus done to these disciples of Christ that every Christian child is taught to call the Hindus ‘vile’ and ‘wretched’ and the most horrible demons on earth?” Swami Vivekananda, The Complete

Any person even most slightly acquainted with the Rath Yatra needs no explaining about the truth.

Similarly, they harped on Sati, and invented the very term and phenomenon of Sati Pratha, citing some allegedly eye-witness accounts of widow burning on the funeral pyre of their husband. So, what was the truth in those accounts? If, there was any truth in those accounts, then what was their origin?

For finding their origin, we have to stretch our memory some centuries back to the Medieval Ages, the era of great unprecedented rape, pillage and looting of India by Muslims and their armies. Among the very first provinces to bear the brunt of Islamic sword were Sindh, Punjab and Rajputana. Sindh being Buddhist in majority and Punjab also having a considerable population of Buddhists, succumbed soon to the unprecedented barbarous Islamic invasions. But Rajputana being completely Hindu held out for centuries. Even now there are only 9% Muslims in Rajasthan. But this resistance cost them a great deal. They had never faced such barbarous invaders and looters. All of the wars which they fought until then, were fought with a moral ethical code. Being synonymous with the Hindu philosophy, wars were fought only between warriors and concerned only them. Civil populace was never even touched, let alone molested.

But the new Islamic enemy they were now facing was an unprecedented evil force, which did not rely on valour for victory, but instead on treachery, deceit, malice, crookedness and all other evil means. Those Islamic armies instead of fighting chivalrously with their opponents, chose to decimate the civilian populace, by laying siege to the country side, thus decimating the social, cultural and economic fabric of the nations. They massacred and butchered complete populations of Hindus, broke their idols, desecrated their temples, butchered the Brahmins, converted them forcibly to Islam (by making them eat beef!) destroyed their corps, poisoned their wells, burned their houses, abducted their children and raped their women. They took their inspiration from Quran. Ayats 2:193, 8:39, orders them to break idols. Ayats 8:12, 22: 19-22 exhorts them to massacre the religious leaders of the other religion. Ayats 33:59 and 4:24 encourages them to commit sexual transgressions without compunction with the non-Muslim women.

This, this last atrocity done to the local populace by these Islamic marauders was without precedence in cruelty. (No one in Hindu era even thought of touching another woman, let alone raping her). It was a greater calamity on women than their family men. They did not think of such calamity befalling them in their wildest nightmares. They were free women under Hinduism with an equal say in society as men. They were not used to the sexual, and mental humiliation and torture to which Muslim and non-Muslim women under Islamic rule were subjected to. Chastity for them was everything, the prime value of life. They could not imagine an unchaste life. The very concept was unthinkable to them. And for preserving their chastity they were prepared to do anything, to break every barrier, to sacrifice every tying, even their life. And so they did.

Facing these Islamic molesters, the brave Hindu women chose death. They built big cauldron like pots, lit then with fire and jumped into them, to die voluntarily and happily in order to save their honour and chastity. They chose and embraced death themselves and nobody forced them to do so. They with their very feminine bravery defied whole armies of Islamic marauders with all of their evil means and intentions. This phenomenon was called ‘johar’, meaning giving themselves to fire in order to be saved from disgrace.

So, this was ‘Johar’, later practiced by Hindu women in every part of India in order to save themselves from the dirty hands of Islamic marauders. There was no forced immolation in that process, no malign Brahmins, no cruel priests, thus no ‘Sati Pratha.’ And for suicide no other person can be blamed, other than those Islamic marauders whose threat forced Hindu women to suicide.

‘Sati’ is an ancient Sanskrit term, meaning a chaste woman who thinks of no other man than her own husband. The famous examples are Sati Anusuiya, Savitri, Ahilya etc. None of them committed suicide, let alone being forcible burned. So how is that that they are called Sati? The word ‘Sati’ means a chaste woman, and it has no co-relations with either suicide or murder. The term ‘Sati’ was never accompanied by ‘Pratha’. The phrase, ‘Sati Pratha’ was a Christian Missionary invention. Sati was taken form the above quoted source and ‘Pratha’ was taken from the practice of Johar’, (by distorting its meaning from ‘suicide’ to ‘murder’) and the myth of ‘Sati Pratha’ was born to haunt Hindus forever.

So ‘Sati Pratha’ (in its modern avatar of forcible widow burning) is not a fault of Hinduism but a crime of Islam. Islam is the perpetrator of crime here, and Hinduism, the victim. It is a joint crime of Islam and Christianity. The crime of Islam was transposed on Hinduism (absolving Islam in the process) by the historical connivance of anti-Hindu forces (Islam, Christianity and Marxism).

To insert a spiritual clause here, it is very important to say that in modern times whenever is there a case reported of voluntary immolation of a woman on her husband’s pyre, it is never reported that the dying woman shrieked in the unbearable pain of the burning flesh. Sucha case is reported by Mark Tully in his book ‘No Full Stops in India ’. He tells of a woman Roop Kanwar in the village Deorala, district Sikar of Rajasthan who in Sep 1987 voluntarily died by burning herself with fire, without emitting any cries or shrieks. So what does it signify? No mortal can remain calm when his flesh is being burnt. So what is the reason of this superhuman quality of these women? The answer lies in dharma, Yoga and meditation. There are umpteen stories in Puranas and Vedas in which both men and women voluntarily accept death by immolating their mortal bodies by various means, including fire. The power of Yoga makes them oblivious of the pain of the decay of the mortal body. So women who voluntarily gave up their life in fire were empowered with the power of Yoga. Pain did not touch their chaste bodies.

Hindus being oppressed for centuries have developed a mental state called ‘Dhimmitude’, which means a mental slavery to its long time oppressor Islam. So, now even those Hindus who stand against Islam are timid, defensive and guilty of some hypothetical crimes, imagined for their chagrin, for them by their enemies. They still can’t think freely, analyze history objectively and recognize the true nature of Hinduism, i.e., Dharma.

But, if they want to re-generate Dharma, Truth and Goodness then they will have to view History in its true light, with Courage, Resolution and with Objectivity. Then only they will be able to re-discover their Dharma and do something for its regeneration.
History being ‘Dharma’ itself hopes them to do so.

Islamist agenda of Bollywood trade-award lobby

Between the distorted tributes to Akbar Ghazi and the fake Kabir Khan, it is hard to understand why the Islamic Republic of Pakistan really needs an ISI when they have Bollywood and its agents in the trade-award lobby planted in India to do their job for them right under the eyes of the Indian public.

This agenda of Bollywood continues this year with Filmfare, once known to ignore popular Hindi blockbusters in favor of Naseeruddin Shah type cinema in the name of 'appreciating art', now having dropped all pretensions of that neutrality and dignity.

The filmfare sponsors were linked to the mid-east funded underworld not too long ago. But they don't even bother pretending not to be an Islamist charade anymore.

The awards are hosted at Adi Chopra's studio, where Chopras are given some made up power award. What is the need for a made up 'power award' in a critical appreciation environment anyway should be the first question? But that apart, why are chopras given these made up power awards?

The answer is not because they were able to make Uday Chopra into a superstar. It is because Chopras are serving as vessels to promote certain Khan actors in Hindi's cinema, not for any other reason. The show is emceed by this khan, Shah Rukh Khan, who conveniently, is again nominated for the award, standing along with Saif Ali Khan who's linked to a Kareena Kapoor, who is also now all of a sudden being given award after award as if she is the new Nutan. Why? You can't be sure whether her award is for her performance in some movie, or for her performance of dumping her man for some Khan in real life.

This is not to ignore the Shahrukh Khan Community peons Farah Khan, and Sajid Khan, whose works like Heyy Babyy and OSO are also deemed worthy of an award nomination.

After a series of gimmicks, the actor award goes to....who else? Shahrukh Khan, the supposed host. Nobody asks how can any actor, who is supposed to be a nominee for awards gets to be a host also.

This is nothing new of course. Even in years 'baadsha' Khan is rejected by the audience, Filmfare likes to create a false illusion and make up some award for Khan.

The whole charade is a first class repulsive political tamasha. The BJP (or some other) government before it comes into power should take note that Bollywood and its media are nothing but the media arm of the Islamist congress party. That congress has been getting routed and its government is about to fall from Delhi but bollywood has so far gone unscathed. And it shouldn't anymore.

Because Bollywood's trade and award lobby have become unabashedly political along that ideology (it can be seen through Zee Cine Awards, IIFA, Star Screen awards, Filmfare and trade write-ups). The politics of it is that if you're a Hindu, and make a movie on Hindu cultural values or heroes, you will get the shaft at the awards. On the other hand, make a semi-coherent movie starring a Muslim Khan actor, or distort towards heroism of a Jalaluddin Akbar Ghazi in Jodhaa Akbar or some fake Kabir Khan in Chak De, well you might as well book yourself a filmfare award now. It would be one thing if there was a semblance of balance reflecting the reality of Hindustan as a whole but there isn't. This crowd is something else, belongs somewhere else. This is not the Hindi reality.

The question is why are Hindus patronizing this charade, let alone allowing this in the name of Hindi cinema? What we have here is essentially subsidization of Pakistani-Punjabi culture in the guise of Hindi cinema. Pakistani-Punjabi because those Punjabis who lean Hindu too get the shaft from the trade/award lobby. And all this is increasingly being done dropping all pretenses of dignity and secularism. These people benefitting from secularism are themselves operating in communal camps when they can.

But be that as it may then. They can self-congratulate themselves right now. But Bollywood and its awards are going to be treated in the same manner from now on in response; without pretense of the esteem and dignity that an award is supposed to represent in the first place.

And politically, the producers and lobbyists need to keep in mind that the climate can change in 10 Janpath soon. They will have to go pleading to the very people being angered right now.

Govt Style - Shame to Mahabharatha epic

Ref: Film story submitted by you, regarding financing of films by Govt of India; Your letter dt. 2.12.90

The undersigned is directed to refer the aforementiontioned letter and state that the Government (GOI) has examined your proposal for financing a film called ''Mahabharat'. The VHLC (Very High Level Committee) constituted for this purpose has been in consultation with the Human Rights Commission, National Commission for Women and Labour Commission, in addition to various Ministries and State Governments, and have formed definitive opinions about the script. Their observations are as below:

1. In the script submitted by you it is shown that there were two sets of cousins, namely, the 'Kauravas', numbering one hundred, and the 'Pandavas', numbering five or six. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has pointed out that these numbers are high, well above the norm prescribed for families by them. It is brought to your kind attention that when the Government is spending massive amounts for promoting Family Planning in due earnest, this indiscretion will send erroneous signals to the general public. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that there may be only three 'Kauravas' and one 'Pandava'.

2. The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has raised an issue whether it is suitable to depict kings and emperors in this democratic age. Therefore,it is suggested that the 'Kauravas' may please be depicted as Honourable Members of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and the 'Pandava' may please be depicted as Honourable Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha). The ending of the film shows the victory of the said 'Pandavas' over the said 'Kauravas'. The ending may be suitably modified so none of the Honourable Members of Parliament is shown as being inferior to other Honourable Members of Parliament.

3. The Ministry of Science and Technology has observed that the manner of birth of 'Kauravas' is suggestive of human cloning, a technology banned in India. This may be changed to normal birth.

4. The National Commission for Women has objected that the father of 'Pandavas', one Sri 'Pandu', is depicted as bigamous, and also there is only one wife for the 'Pandavas' in common. Thereore suitable changes may be made in the said script so that the said Sri 'Pandu' is not depicted as bigamous. However, with the reduction in number of 'Pandavas' as suggested above, the issue of polyandry can be addressed without further trouble.

5. The Commission for the Physically Challenged has observed that the portrayal of the visually impaired character 'Dhritarashtra' is derogatory. Therefore the said character may not be shown as visually impaired.

6. The Department of Women and Child Development have highlighted that the public disrobing of one female character called 'Draupadi' is objectionable and derogatory to women in general. Further the Home Ministry anticipates that depiction of such scenes may create law and order problem and at the same time invite strong protests from the different women forums. Such scenes may also invite penal action under SITA (Suppression of Immoral Traffic Act), therefore they may be avoided and deleted from the film.

7. It is felt that showing the 'Pandava' and the 'Kauravas' as gamblers will be anti-social and counter-productive as it might encourage gambling. Therefore, the said 'Pandavas' and 'Kauravas' may be shown to have engaged in horse racing or cricket. (Hon. Supreme Court has held horse racing and cricket not to be gambling).

8. The 'Pandavas' are shown as working in the King 'Virat's employment without receiving any salary. According to the Human Rights Commission, this amounts to bonded labour and may attract provisions of The Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 1976. This may be corrected at once.

9. In the ensuing war, one character by name Sri 'Abhimanyu' has been shown as fighting. The National Labour Commission has observed that, war being a hazardous industry, and the said character being 16 years old, this depiction will be construed as a case of child labour. Also there is no record of his being paid any compensation. This may also be deemed to be violatory of the provisions of The Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986 and Minimum Wages Act, 1948. Such references in the film may be removed.

10. The character Sri 'Krishna' has been depicted as wearing a peacock feather. The peacock is our National Bird and wearing dresses made from peacock feather is an offence under the Wild Life Protection Act, 1972. This may not be depicted

11. Smt. Maneka Gandhi has raised very serious objection against using any elephants or horses in war scenes, since there is every scope for mistreatment and injury to the said animals. The provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1890 and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Amendment) Act, 1960 would be applicable in the instant case. Suitable changes may be made in the script to address the objections raised.

12. In pursuance of the Memorandum of Ministry of Finance regarding austerity measures, it is informed that in the battle field sequences, only ten soldiers may be allowed for each side. Also, all the characters may be shown to have obtained a valid licence under the Arms Act, 1959 as well as the Indian Arms Act, 1878.

You may have observed already that none of these observations attempt to curb artistic freedom or ingenuity in conformity with avowed GOI policy. You are therefore requested to modify your otherwise meritorious script along the aforementioned lines and resubmit it (notarised triplicate) to the undersigned at the earliest for the Government's consideration in due course.

Adopting Hindu names for destroying Hinduism

During his visit to Kashmir in late eighties, the Prime Minister of India , Rajiv Gandhi was adamant to drive his Safari himself across the tunnel, when both the air and road traffic were closed due to heavy snowfall. For others it was violation of law, but Mr. Clean was above the law of the land. The Safari was however, almost hand lifted by a Brigadier, the I / C Commanding Officer at Udhampur to the north portal of the tunnel
Kashmir Valley was covered white. The road traffic had come to stand still. I along with my children walked the distance from Magarmal Bagh to Zainakot, HMT crossing. En route, we, besides a crowd of people had to stand on the roadside at kamarwari Chattabal, until the cavalcade of the two non serious Heads, who were the curse on the people, thrust by their self centered parents on the innocent Indians including the Kashmiris. We Kashmiri people were doubly cursed. Both our Prime Minister and the Chief Minister had inherited their respective thrones courtesy manipulation of democracy. The senior Clean was at the steering wheel while the local Clean was next to him waving hand to the public standing under compulsion due to the traffic hazard. A little ahead the caravan had a temporary stopover at Maulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari’s residence at Kamarwari crossing over a tea party.
Doordarshan Kashmir Evening News Bulletin had given full coverage to the PM’s valley joy tour. Special event of the news made me to believe that faces are deceptive. Though Clean, yet filthy within. Farooq in his dramatic style held Rajiv’s hand tight in his hand and lifted hand to exhibit commitment:” Aaj eak Musalman eak Hindu key saath muhadha kerta hai (Today a Musalman and a Hindu do commit to each other.” Naming Rajiv as Hindu was nothing short of an electric current to Rajiv. He in a jolt withdrew his hand and said: “Maie kehan Hindu houn(How come I am a Hindu?” Farooq said: “Thodee dhair key leiay maan lo na. (Let it be for a while)”.
The next day or the same day, the two were, stopped by Farooq Ahangar, a National Conference worker at Kanikadal crossing leading to Tankipora, near Hari halwi’s shop. Rajiv followed Farooq and, both one by one shook hand with with Farooq Ahangar.
Hari Halwaie’s immediate prophecy was that bad days for India are bound to come.
The same year Lala Tirth Ram Amila, Raj Sabha Member (Congress) forewarned the Raj Sabha about the infiltration of militants. Rajiv gagged Lala Ji and said: “Lala Ji you are not here to spread rumours”.

In Bhaarat, Rajiv Gandhi who was a Muslim (Most of the Bhaaratiya people believe that he is a Hindu due to his name) became a Roman Catholic and still Bhaaratiya made him the Prime Minister of Bhaarat (80% of people in Bhaarat are Hindu.) That happens only in Bhaarat. However, adopting Hindu names and practices poses a danger. If a convert adopts name Joseph we immediately know that he is different, but if he keeps his name Jagannath or Jagadish and becomes a Christian we can't distinguish him. Rajiv kept his Hindu name to deceive Hindus in spite of being a Muslim and latter converted to Christianity, the religion of his wife. Many Christians and Muslims are taking Hindu names for fooling and deceiving Hindus. Daya Shankar, Dinesh, Sunil, Nirmala, Deepak, Kirti, Shakti Singh, Bhanu Pratap, Vivekenanda, Kapil, Manohar, Vidyadhar, Arvind, Shanti Prasad, Premchand, Vimla, Anand, Vinod Kumar, Jyoti, Rajni, Jai Shree, Yashwant, Shalini, Ajay Singh, Ajat Shatru are all names of Christians and some Muslims are also having such name for getting jobs or for merging with Hindus for creating terrorist activities. Many Christian ministers in government are having Hindu names.
Ambika Soni is a Christian lady with Hindu name. She is trying to destroy Hindu religion. How did Ambika Soni, in spite of being Christian come to the conclusion that NASA's evidence is not reliable about Ram Sethu? She is neither being logical, nor neutral, but is divesting her anti-Hindu propensity. She is not even doing her job properly; she is mishandling and bungling her job. If she were doing her job, she would be setting funds to classify Ram Sethu as an Ancient-Monument, which is older than the pyramids, older than the Great Wall Of China, in fact, it is the oldest man-made structure in the world. She would try to propagate the importance and history of this great monument, and notify the government about its significance, importance, and antiquity of it. She has not done any study to determine the age, the antiquity, and heritage value of this great monument. Of course, this monument is highly sacred to over one billion Hindus. But this is never a consideration in Ambika Soni's thinking that is why she has such a reputation for being an anti-Hindu. Her assessment of the situation is purely anti-Hindu, political, and not scientific.
Ms. Gandhi, an Italian-born Roman Catholic, hails from a family loyal to Benito Mussolini. She married Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, son of the then Indian Prime Minister Indira khan (commonly known as Gandhi); he became Prime Minister after her assassination in 1984. In 1991, Congress failed to win enough seats to form its own government, so Mr. Narasimha Rao was asked to cobble a working majority, while the widowed Ms. Gandhi bided her time. By 1996, she felt strong enough to physically takeover the party from president Sitaram Kesri, but in 2004, despite overt support, was denied premiership and forced to make way for Dr. Man Mohan Singh.
She now hopes to groom her son, Rahul Gandhi, for leadership of the party and country. The citizenship status of Ms. Sonia Gandhi and her two children has never been clarified; she is a naturalized Indian and under Roman law, she and her offspring are eternally entitled to Roman citizenship. This was how she took her husband and children to the Italian embassy in 1977 after Mrs. Indira Gandhi lost the elections.
Ms. Gandhi’s long and privileged stay in this country was lucrative to her native country and friends. The Italian public sector Snam Progetti won extravagant and regular fertilizer contracts in India , and her personal friend Ottavio Quattrochi even doubled up as a middleman in the Bofors kickbacks scandal. The Congress president had enough political cachet to help friends evade justice after the scandal broke, and as UPA chairperson ensured that the Bofors monies, frozen in two London accounts, were released to Mr. Quattrochi, and that he walked free after detention in Argentina!
More recently, she struggled hard to impose the controversial Indo-US nuclear deal on the nation, despite its crippling financial, technological and security implications for Bhaarat. The covert but firm opposition of coalition partners to premature elections appears to have scuttled the deal, but it is too early to celebrate. Observers expect Congress to somehow ‘buy’ Left compliance.

Should we be proud of Bobby Jindal?
Bobby Jindal born to relatively affluent professionals in Louisiana, he rejected his Bhaaratiya name (Piyush) as a very young child, insisting that he be called Bobby, after a (white) character on the popular TV show 'The Brady Bunch'. His desire to fit in to the majority-white society he saw around him soon manifested itself in another act of rejection: Bobby spurned the Hinduism into which he was born and, as a teenager, converted to Roman Catholicism, the faith of most white Louisianans. After conversion to Christianity he did not change his Hindu name to maintain his Hindu identity as well.

The election of Bobby Jindal as governor of the US state of Louisiana has been greeted exultantly by Bhaaratiyas and Indian-Americans around the world. There's no question that this is an extraordinary accomplishment: a young Indian-American, just 36 years old.
Jindal asked his Indian wife, Supriya, to convert to Christianity as well, and the two are regular churchgoers. In his social circle, Bobby Jindal is considered very conservative Christian.
Let us be proud that a brown-skinned man with a Bhaaratiya name has achieved what Bobby Jindal has. But let us not make the mistake of thinking that we should be proud of what he stands for.
To achieve something poor people are leaving Sanatan Dharm and Bobby did the same thing what is the difference. Why give label made in India ....Hindus treat Hindutva like their mothers can’t give her up for anything and most of you will not. The point is don’t just be happy because of some sensation created by a converted Hindu. He won’t be of any use to you or for Hindutva....keep this thing in mind. Hindus should not be heart broken....He has left all Hindus willingly let him go. do not label his family as they are still practicing Hindu...it does not matter at all....he has set precedence for people eying for higher positions...to convert and achieve...

Special status sought for cow

Spiritual heads of various mutts demanded that the government identify cow as national animal in the place of tiger while addressing a national conference on glory of Gomatha known as Vande Gomataram at Mahati Auditorium in Tirupati on Saturday.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams’ (TTD) Sri Venkateswara Gosamrakshana Trust is holding the three-day seminar in association with Sri Bhashyakara Charitable Trust, Chennai. Head of Peshawar mutt, Udipi, Sri Viswesh Theertha Swamiji, who inaugurated the conference, said that cow is secular while reminding that it has no caste or religious reservations while giving its milk.

The swamiji pointed to the special bond between lord of Seven hills, Lord Venkateswara and Kamadhenu (celestial cow) which used to provide milk the lord everyday when the lord took the incarnation as Srinivasa. Sri Prasanna Venkatachariar Chaturvedi swamiji of Ramanuja mission Chennai questioned the rational behind selecting tiger as national animal while stressing the need to replace it with cow. "We have peacock as national bird instead of vulture and lotus as national flower instead of cactus why cow not cow in the place of tiger," the seer questioned. Taking strong objection towards cow slaughter, he lamented that there are 350 legal and over 30,000 illegal slaughter houses in the country. "It is not slaughter of cow it is slaughter of our culture and heritage," the seer asserted. He advocated the need for a cow policy and a Panch Sheel to protect the cows. Adopt a cow, establish vigilance committees after providing communication equipment and place them on the way to slaughter houses to prevent the cattle reach the place. Make documentaries to send the message across on the holiness of the cow to create awareness against the menace, the seer said. He donated Rs 1 lakh to the TTD towards cow welfare scheme out of Rs 5 lakh he promised before.

The celebrations of 31st December are a part of the Western culture. However, now even Hindus consider it as one of the different festivals of India. Thus, they have begun celebrating this day in large numbers. There are well-planned preparations for this day with respect to what should be done, what should be purchased, which restaurant to visit and which place to party. This day is celebrated everywhere from big cities to remote villages; which do not even have regular water and power supply. Hindus do not realise that by following the western culture blindly, not only are they ruining their own culture but also leading their future generations into hedonism by making them imbibe western cultural values. This article focuses on these very points.

Conversion of faith for a day

When a person converts his faith, he celebrates the customs and festivals of that faith and follows it. Likewise, if we do not follow our faith and celebrate 31st December and Christmas, which are rituals of another faith, it is similar to getting converted to that faith for a day! However, Hindus are not aware that by setting aside their own religion and celebrating days such as 31st December, etc. they are committing a sin of betraying their religion. According to Hindu Dharma, any auspicious occasion is celebrated by arising at 'Brahmamuhurta' i.e., the period between dawn and sunrise, having a bath, wearing clean clothes, ornaments and performing a holy ritual. This results in creation of good impressions on the mind due to the pious frequencies present in the atmosphere at that time. On the contrary, acts such as consuming liquor on the night of 31st December, creating nuisance and spending the night in a hedonic manner; results in creation of negative impressions on the mind. Importance of Gudhipadva

Gudhipadva is the first day of the Hindu Calendar Year. The Hindu New Year begins on the first day of the month of Chaitra from the Hindu lunar calendar. The natural, historical and spiritual reasons to mark the commencement of the year on the first day of the month of Chaitra are discussed in the following sections.

Natural: The spring season commences, the trees bear new foliage and appear fresh. In the Shrimadbhagvadgita the Lord says, 'Among the seasons, the exhilarating Vasant season (spring) is My manifestation', thus signifying the importance of this season. In this season the weather is pleasant and exhilarating.

Historical: Lord Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, returned to Ayodhya after slaying the demons and Ravan, an evil king of the demons who had kidnapped Lord Rama's queen, Sita on this day. Also, he slayed Vali, a powerful and evil king of Kishkindha on the same day.

Spiritual:

1. Since on this day Lord Brahma created the universe and the Satyayug began, it marks the commencement of the New Year.

2. It is one of the three-and-a-half auspicious days (sade teen muhurtas). There is a special feature of the three and a half auspicious days. Unlike other days when one has to choose an auspicious moment to perform a ritual, on these days one does not need to do the same; as every moment of these days is auspicious.

3. The higher incidence of prajapati sanyukta (conjoint) frequencies on the earth: The Hindu Holy text Ganeshyamal tantra states that in total 108 subtle frequencies reach the earth. These stem from the four parts (charans) of each of the twenty-seven lunar asterisms from the Nakshtralok. They disintegrate further into four type of frequencies : yama, surya, prajapati and sanyukta (conjoint), and strike the earth in varying proportions throughout the year. On the first day of the month of Chaitra, the prajapati sanyukta and surya sanyukta frequencies, which have the potential to increase the spiritual/subtle purity (sattva) component, descend in larger quantities. Also on this day, the maximum number of the purity-predominant prajapati sanyukta frequencies descends upon the earth.

A long human chain (Manava haram) of about 12km length from Ganesh Temple at Secunderabad to Bhagyalakshmi Temple at Charminar in old city of Hyderabad stood from 10.30 Hrs. to 11.30Hrs. on 11-12-07 demanding protection of Ram Setu. The ancient holy epic Valmiki Ramayan, there is elaborate description about construction of Setu. Its a great world heritage site India has. The Ram Setu connects the India’s Rameshwaram to Sri Lanka’s Talaimannar. Hindu believe that this ancient bridge was built by Lord Rama, as described in Ramayana.

Apart from Ramayana, the Mahabharata also refers to the continued protection of Nala Setu following Sri Rama’s command. Kalidasa’s Raghuvamsham also refers to the Setu. So does the Skanda Purana(III.1.2.1-114), the Vishnu Purana (IV 4.40-49), the Agni Purana(V-XI), the Brahma Purana (138.1-40).

The core agency, The Geological Survey of India has in its logo, Asetu Himachal, means ….The India from Setu to Himalaya.

The Encyclopedia Britanica defines the bridge thus, “Adam’s Bridge also called Rama’s Bridge, chain of shoals, between the islands of Mannar, near northwestern Sri Lanka and Rameswaram, off the southeastern coast of India”.

Recently NASA satellite images indicates clear picture of a broken bridge under the ocean. The heritage of this Ram Setu and the Story of Lord Rama, both are extremely sacred to Hindus.

The geographically Sethusamudram, is a project to create alternative shorter way for ships to cross the Gulf of Mannar. The project was initiated some 150 years back by a British Commander A D Taylor. In 1955, Govt. of India set up the Sethusamudram Project Committee to assess possibility of the project and about five alternative routes were discussed till 2001. The NDA sanctioned a fund to study the project so as to take final decision on the route but the government lost power.

The official web site of project states that Ships coming from West of India and going to Chennai, Ennore, Vishakapatnama, Haldia and Kolkta have to travel around the Sri Lankan coast resulting in increase of travel distance and time. Therefore, to reduce distances between the east and west coast of India and to improve the navitation within territorial waters of India, a alternate route or channel connecting the Gulf of Mannar and Palk Bay has been envisaged so that the ships moving between the east and west coasts of India need not go around Sri Lanka. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 2,427 crores.

On the decision to destroy Ramsetu and create an alternative route by Government of India, the Hindus have raised their voice. The Governemnt has changed the metro rail route to protect the Qutub Minar, stops a corridor to protect the Taj Mahal’s surroundings. Even a child knows that a bridge was built by Lord Rama, using floating stones to reach to Lanka to rescue Sita anddestroy the evil regime of Ravana.

The movement started to save Ramsetu at the shores of Rameshwaram on April,2007. Two former judges of Supreme Court, Justice K T Thomas and Justice V R Krishna Iyer, none of them close to the saffron side, have warned the government against destroying the Ram Setu.

Local fishermen, Hindus, Muslims and Christians alike oppose the present route and are demanding alternative channels, which are available. They say the present channel would destroy marine life and corals. This will kill the trade in shankas(Shells) that has a turnover in excess of Rs 150 crore(Rs. 1.5 billion) per annum. Invaluable thorium deposits would be affected, which are too important for our nuclear fuel requirement.

Thus, the issues concern us all, and should be taken up as Indian without getting falling in party lines and political agendas. The Ram Setu or Adam Bridge belongs to all humanity, being an important heritage site; hence the government should not all it to become another issue affecting Hindu sensitivities. Nobody is opposing the Sethu Samudram Project, only a realignment of the route is being asked, as the present one destroys the Rame Setu.

Facts about Sethusamudram Ship Canal Project

The Sethusamudram Ship Canal Project (SSCP), which envisages dredging a deep water canal across Adam’s Bridge at India’s southern tip, has been in news for all the wrong reasons.

Yet, without negating the divine implications and without questioning people’s beliefs, there is a need to objectively analyse the project and assess whether it in our national interest.
The project, which would cost the exchequer around Rs 3,500 crores, entails building a 300 metre wide and 12 metre deep channel from Gulf of Mannar across the Adam’s bridge all the way to Bay of Bengal beyond Palk Strait off Point Calimere, a distance of about 44 nautical miles, so that the ships from the West Coast of India can transit to the East Coast through the Palk Bay, rather than going round Sri Lanka.

The protagonists of the project feel that the canal will save precious fuel and save transit time for the ships, and also develop the Tamil Nadu coast. Many feel that the entire traffic from the Persian Gulf and Red Sea to Malacca Strait will eventually take this route.
But the facts are somewhat different. The channel is being dredged so that the ships with up to 10 metres draught can transit through it. But almost all the tankers and bulk carriers from Persian Gulf or the Red Sea and bound for East or South East Asia are much bigger in size, and will not be able to use the channel due to constraints of draught.
Even for those ships that can transit through the canal, except for traffic from Tuticorin to Chennai, the time gained by most of the merchant ships on account of shorter distance will be more than neutralised due to delays that are inherent in transiting through a narrow channel, where pilotage in all probability will be compulsory. The ships will have to anchor and wait for a pilot (a local expert who navigates the ship through confined waters). Time will be wasted in waiting for pilot, embarking him, disembarking him and also due to speed restrictions mandated in a narrow and shallow channel.
If the traffic increases, then the ships will have to queue up as big ships will find it difficult to cross each other in a narrow channel like this. Any fuel saved will be neutralised by Pilotage charges and other charges likely to be levied on ships transiting through this artificially made canal. It is therefore unlikely that any significant shipping is likely to be diverted through this canal, even after it is ready. This poses serious doubts about the financial viability of the project.
From the security point of view, it must be noted that all big ships during their transit from Adam’s Bridge to Point Calimere will be extremely vulnerable to attacks by LTTE, as the ships on account of surrounding shallow waters will be constrained to move at a slow speed and follow a fixed path, which will pass very close to the waters dominated by the LTTE. This will provide LTTE a strong leverage against India and the flow of traffic through the canal will depend on India’s relations with this terrorist outfit. Strategically, India must aim to bring the countries of South Asia closer and strive for a South Asian Economic Union. But the Sethusamudram Project creates an unnecessary Gulf between India and Sri Lanka, which is uncomfortable with the project as it perceives it to be against Sri Lankan interests. Although it has been circumspect as it does not want to ruffle feathers in India, but Colombo’s displeasure is well known.
Sethu project — A strategic blunder | Indian Marxists and their evil designs
It would make much more sense to go in for a land bridge between Dhanushkoti and Talai Mannar (over the Adam’s Bridge or the proverbial Ram Sethu) so as to achieve better integration of Sri Lankan Economy with Indian economy. This coupled with a reasonable devolution package by the Sri Lankan government could resolve the long festering ethnic turmoil in the island nation. Several studies indicate that a land bridge between India and Sri Lanka would make enormous economic sense and the cost could be recovered in less than a decade.
As an emerging maritime power, India would like to monitor shipping in the Indian Ocean at least in its vicinity, and one of the most significant Sea Line of Communication close to our waters is the one that connects Dondra Head (South of Sri Lanka) to Malacca Strait. Though Indian naval ships would still have the legal right to be in Sri Lankan waters after the construction of Sethusamudram Canal, they would definitely lose the moral right to do so. The environmental impact of the project has not been studied adequately. It is believed that Adam’s bridge prevented Tsunami from affecting Kerala, but what is more significant is that the region has been prone to massive tidal waves and one such wave in the sixties had washed away an entire train from Dhanushkoti Railway Station.
The Gulf of Mannar has been chosen as a biosphere reserve as its waters and its coast are rich in marine life, which contains over 3600 species of plants and animals including 117 species of corals and 17 species of mangroves. The project will definitely have an adverse impact on the marine life even if the shipping lanes do not exactly pass through these waters; mere proximity will pollute the marine environment and destroy the coral reefs.
The local fishermen feel that this will not only ruin the fish breeding grounds but could also bring in deep sea trawlers, thereby threatening their livelihood.
It is therefore essential to dispassionately review the project and not see it through political or religious prisms. As the channel will not allow transit by bigger ships and small craft have always been transiting through Pamban Pass, it may be much more cost effective to dredge the Pamban Pass to allow ships of up to five to six metres to pass through. This may not even cost one per cent of the cost of SSCP, and besides saving exchequer’s money will definitely avoid the adverse environmental, security and strategic implications of this project.

Rama Setu and setusamudram channel conspiracy
Canal versus channel
Channel in mid-ocean is an unprecedented, risky enterprise. Suez and Panama canals are land-based canals. To try to create a mid-ocean channel passage in turbulent waters of Palk Straits is an invitation to disaster, putting nation’s security and coastline integrity at risk.
When 5 alternative alignments are available to create a land-based canal, why has a mid-ocean channel channel passage been chosen as the Setusamudram Channel Project? There is an international conspiracy behind this choice.
This choice will internationalise the waters of Gulf of Mannar and create an international boundary between India and Srilanka, where such a boundary never existed. According to the June 1974 Indira Gandhi – Sirimavo Bandaranaike declaration, these waters were declared as ‘Historic Waters’, meaning, waters territorially shared between the two countries and hence, internal to these two countries. US Navy operational directive of June 23, 2005 sought to change this declaration. The directive refused to declare these as ‘historic waters’ and to operationalise their assertion, sent their naval warships into these waters. This is a serious violation of national sovereignty which has gone unnoticed so far.
Why is America interested in these waters and why the desire to create an international waters channel? Clearly, the choice is to suit the convenience of the US Navy which wants to outsource to India, the coast-guarding of the sealane oil tanker traffic from Straits of Hormuz through Srilanka, through Straits of Malacca to the Westcoast of USA. The geopolitical perspective becomes apparent from the location of the US base in Diego Garcia south of Srilanka, of a very low frequency radio station (which uses ocean waves for transmission) at Trincomalee to listen to the submarine chatter and the US naval units in Singapore.
Justice VR Krishna Iyer’s letter to PM: I beseech you to reconsider the stand taken if any already. This is a matter of political party business or popularity or pro-American yen…the grave issue with which the nation shall defend its survival.
Justice KT Thomas: It is our duty to make in-depth study of all possible repercussions before destroy the natural geological formations. That apart, the religious sentiments of the majority community in India that Lord Rama created such sea wall must he honored and respected.
There is another geopolitical perspective. That relates to the existence of 32% of the world’s reserves of thorium in just three villages south of Rama Setu (details provided below). If these thorium reserves get desiccated and go into the ocean through a future tsunami funneled through the channel passage, India will have to continue to depend upon purchased uranium from NSG countries. The accumulation of thorium placer deposits is emphatically due to the existence of Rama Setu acting as a cyclotron against the clock-wise and counter-clock-wise ocean currents depositing Th-232 on the coastline lands. Thorium is also found in ilmenite sands. Th-232 + a neutron yields U-233 and India is ready with a reactor to produce electricity directly using a thorium-based breeder reactor. Rama Setu is a tsunami protection wall which saved the coastline of Tamilnadu, Kerala and westcoast during the last devastating tsunami of Dec. 26, 2004.
It is impermissible to damage such a protective structure impairing the integrity and security of the nation.
A serious breach of strategic national security created by the alleged exports of nuclear resources from southern coast of India near Rama Setu by some private parties, in violation of provisions in the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act 1957 and Atomic Energy Act 1962. The judicial complaint lodged by Deputy Director, Geology and Mining, Nagercoil, Kanniyakumari District, Tamilnadu. Thorium and titanium (strategic atomic and space age metals) are found in these placer sands called ilmenite, rutile, garnet, zircon, monazite. Thorium containing coastal sands south of Rama Setu represent 32% of the known reserves of the world. These placer sands also contain the heaviest concentration of upto 4% of thorium unprecendented in any heavy minerals areas anywhere in the world.
There are also reports of loss of stockpiles from the Indian Rare Earths Limited offices.
Another report has appeared on 6 September 2007 and headlined in major newspapers all over the world that there is an imminent of threat of a tsunami more devastating than the tsunami of 26 Dec. 2004. This report appeared in the prestigious scientific journal, Nature. The report states that about 60 to 70 million people of the east coast of India in the Bay of Bengal will be at risk. In view of the seriousness of this scientific report, I request you to immediately suspend all project works along the coastline which should be resumed only after a detailed, multi-disciplinary investigation of this threat to national security and integrity of the nation.
According to the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) website and records, the estimated reserves of thorium in India are 3,60,000 tonnes and represent the energy equivalent of generation of electricity at the rate of 400,000 MW for 387 years and use in thorium-based breeder reactors. Recent report from BARC also indicates that the nation’s nuclear scientists are ready with a thorium-based reactor to generate electricity which can be made operational in the next 7 years, according to the statement of Dr. Baldev Raj of Atomic Energy Commission.
Thorium 232 bombarded by a neutron yields U-233 and can be used in the three-stage nuclear programme chalked out by our atomic scientific community.

Try telling any child -- and that includes the inner child within all of us -- facts and dates, and they will quickly lose interest. But narrate a mythological tale, and they're all ears. Parents know that. So do advertisers. After all, as Deepak Chopra once wrote in The Times of India , "A brand is an encapsulated mythology. A person will buy a product not because she is consuming the product but because she is consuming its mythology."
Which is why the whole debate about whether or not Lord Ram existed as a historical figure is redundant? Even if he was not a historical figure, it does not in any way diminish his value. As a mythological figure, he dominates the consciousness far more than anyone out of a history book. The true beauty of India 's great epics lies in the fact that they are as relevant today as they were millennia ago. To millions of Indians, Ram and the other heroes of the epics are living entities; eternal role models who exist outside of time and space. To try and confine them within the boundaries of geography and chronology -- as attempts to prove their historicity must necessarily do -- is to do them a huge disservice.

In any case, the obsession with historical accuracy is a Western, rather than an Indian construct. Historians have cited the traditional Indian habit of creating myths and fables rather than 'accurate' historical documents to lament that India has no sense of history. Absolutely true. But rather than getting defensive about this 'criticism', we should be proud of our historical view of civilization. Because our forefathers intuitively knew that mythology provides a far more authentic understanding of a civilisation than history does. Indeed, as Indians, we believe in creating myths, and obliterating history. History, after all, is often simply a victor's viewpoint of how things were, whereas mythology tells us how people truly longed for them to be.

Rama Setu: an archaeologist speaks

I had the opportunity to be an Archaeologist in Archaeological Survey of India since 1970, and recently retired and would like to bring out the following facts about Ramar Sethu Issue. To my knowledge no archaeological expedition of any type either on Shore or off shore was conducted to document the facts about the Ramar Sethu Bridge . Neither there is any official publication on the type of Remains there.

I was shocked to see the Affidavit filed by ASI in the Apex Court . It was based on secondary resources from some other Agency. None of Archaeologists, especially my old colleagues could have gone to that level to file a casual Affidavit in the highest court of the country. To my solace, now it is learnt that the officials involved both are not Archaeologists but Administrative Officers. One is an Assistant Director and another is Director Administration. The latter is from Indian Revenue Service and entered the Survey on Deputation few months back and bypassed the Senior Archaeologists of ASI and misinformed the Apex Court . The decline of the standard of ASI is not a sudden one, but for the past two decades Archaeologist is not allowed to head it. Due to some flaw in the Central Recruitment Rules amended during 1980s, no Archaeologist is made eligible to be the Director General and IAS personnel lead it one by one with out even basic knowledge on History or Archaeology.

They represent the Nation in many International Bodies like UNESCO on Archaeological matters and misrepresent the facts many times. This time due to sensitivity of the Subject they were trapped in the Apex Court . No Governement including BJP ever attempted to post a technical DGA. We hope at least now the Government will wake up to restore the lost glory of the Survey.

Though as per Arnold Toynbee, "Civilizations die from suicide, not murder", a unilateral war is being waged by anti-Hindu forces to wipe out Hinduism and Hindu heritage from earth the way other native cultures and religions have been erased all over the globe. And to save Ram Setu is to save Setusamudaram "territorial waters" from becoming "international waters" which will endanger Bharat's security. To save Ram Setu is to save vast thorium deposits which can meet Bharat's long term energy needs. Saving it also saves vast areas of Bharat from future tsunamis.

Why this undue haste?

The undue haste with which the government is proceeding with Sethusamudram Ship Channel Project (SSCP) shows that it is bent upon demolishing this holy monument.

RAMA SETU AND RAMA’S HISTORICITY

In its now withdrawn affidavit, the Government has claimed that Rama Sethu is a naturally formed coral reef and not a man-made structure. Further, it was also claimed that Rama was not a historical figure though it is unclear what Rama’s historicity has to do with the proposed project of cutting a channel through the Rama Sethu. The latter is both uninformed and gratuitous and smacks of an ulterior political motive.

The experts who helped the Government in preparing the affidavit have been hasty in both their conclusions— of Rama Sethu being entirely natural and Rama’s historicity. A coral reef can grow around a long submerged man-made structure just as an anthill or even a mound can form over an old abandoned structure due to the action of elements. Sea levels thousands of years ago were much lower than they are today. What is now a submerged in the shallow waters of the Palk Strait could have been above water or only partially under water in ancient times?

As a result, very detailed marine archaeological work has to be done to determine whether or not Rama Sethu has any man-made structures. Neither the Archaeological Survey of India nor any other organization has done any such work. All we have are satellite photos and some geophysical studies. These are inconclusive and subject to varying interpretations.

It is a similar story with Rama’s historicity: without thorough research one cannot say that no such person existed simply because there are no physical remains like bones. By applying the same logic we should be able to say that Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed also never existed. When working on my book on the Historical Krishna , I found that archaeology is of limited use in dealing with such ancient figures. I found it necessary to correlate data from a wide range of sources including literature, ancient ecology, archaeo-astronomy and others.

Fortunately I was able to build on a century of previous research going back to Bankima Chandra Chatterji and his Sri Krishna Charitra. No comparable research is available on the Historical Rama. This being the situation, we should refrain from hasty statements like what we have been seeing in the past few days. We must in all humility acknowledge that a great deal of work needs to be done before we can even begin to answer these questions.

Above all we should never forget— absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

DMK launches jihad

Destruction of Ram Setu constitutes the bedrock of the DMK’s anti-Hindu agenda. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunandhi has cited the discredited Aryan-Dravidian theory in support of his claim that Ramayan, which symbolises the invasion of Dravidian south by the Aryans of the north, is a myth. This is an assault on the values dear to Hindus.

In addition, fathered by Christian missionaries beginning with Bishop Caldwell, the Dravidian parties harbour a visceral hatred of what they call Brahminical Hinduism. This has evolved into the overtly racist Aryan-Dravidian myth being spouted by Mr Karunanidhi. Ram Setu is to Mr Karunanidhi — and his followers like Mr TR Baalu — what the original Ram temple at Ayodhya was to Mughal emperor Babur. What we are witnessing is DMK’s — especially Mr Karunanidhi’s — jihad.

Lord Ram designatges and denotes, the victory of Good over Evil. Lord Ram and his Vanar Army, built the bridge to Lanka, to rescue Sita, from the clutches of that creepy and evil Ravan. Regardless of what Karunanidhi and others of his ilk (they are a bunch of jerks ) say, millions of Hindus believe the sanctity of Ram Sethu. They feel small and humiliated at the shameful plan of destroying this Hindu Sanctum Santorum.
It is a Red-Flag, and basically a continuation of the old game of humiliating and bashing the Hindu, which has been going on for 1200 years. Throughout these centuries, Hindus have been badgered and bullied, labeled as Kafirs ( Non-Moslem Infidels ), and as Pagans/Heathens ( Non-Christian Infidels ), and accused of worshipping the idols, stones, trees, monkeys, and snakes. Hindus have been identified as headed for Hell. Because of this Sullas/Kharistas believe that Hindus deserve to be murdered, or humiliated enough to discredit their Hinduism, to compell them to convert to Islam /Christianity.
It is indescribably debasing and degrading to, see the Hindus brought down so low. Hundreds of millions of Hindus have been knifed by the sword of Islam, 64,000 plus Hindu shrines have been demolished by the faithfuls of Islam.
How long are the Hindus supposed to t ake this kind of Sh** ? How much longer is the anger of the Hindu, supposed to accumulate before the Hindu patience runs out.
Destruction of Ram Sethu is a terrible encroachment on the sanctum santorum of the Hindu. It is totally unacceptable and intolerable.
Denying Ram is denying Bhaarat - India
People should urge every one that basing major religion of Bhaarat is not real secularism. It is the same religion which nurture the welfare of minorities. Compare the change in demographies in Islamic countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh , where the more than half of minorities are wiped out. Hence religion matters. But don't take leverage of liberal majority.

It is need of the hour that study of Chanakya Niti be made compulsory all over Bharat that how foreigners be treated for higher positions in the country.

The backlash over the Ram Setu affidavit may yet teach modern India ’s foreign-born and native-secular rulers that would no go unpunished in one form or the other eventually.

Interestingly, the first tsunami of 2004 came soon after the arrest of the Kanchi Shankaracharya on specious grounds of conspiracy to murder. The second warning, when the Ocean literally growled and tremours measured 8.0 on the Richter scale, came within hours of the Centre declaring there was no historic evidence of Shri Ram and the Setu was a mere sandbank.

The attempt of destrpying Hindu religion by a foreign born Christian lady Sonia – Maino must unite the Hindus all over the world for destroying Nehru – Gandhi apery and the congress party as well.

Puri, Sep 15 : Puri Goberdhan Peeth Sankaracharya Swamy Neeschalananda Saraswati today alleged that the attempt to destroy the Ramsethu for the Setusamudram shipping canal project was a ''conspiracy'' against Hindu ethos and religious beliefs.

In a statement here, the Puri seer, quoting Hindu religious scripts, said Bhagwan Ram had constructed the Setu in Tretya Yug to reach Lanka to free his wife Sita.

There is an increasing fraud and dishonesty at the core of the Bhaaratiya secular establishment.

The members of the UPA government in Bhaarat, seem to be bent upon removing the Ram Sethu, one of the holiest Hindu sites. Most of the proponents of this destruction-project are Phoney-Liberal politicians, who have their interest, in promoting the welfare of the minority communities, at the cost of the Hindus. There are plenty of Phoney-Liberals in Bhaarat, who are willing to defend the minorities and speak for them. But they have neither interest nor any sympathy for the Hindus. Their hypocrisy is pathetic and a fraud against the Hindus, for which these politicians should feel ashamed of themselves, but they never feel embarrassed nor humiliated, even though the Hindu always comes out at the short end of the stick, as a result of their phony-liberal bias.

One of these Phony-Liberal politicians is a well-known member of the Congress Party, by name Ambika Soni, who is also a Christian lady. Ambika Soni has been close to the Gandhi family, for a long time, first time to Sanjay Gandhi, and now to Sonia Gandhi. She enjoys considerable power and influence in the Congress Party. Several Hindu leaders are unhappy at the positions that she takes, with respect to the issues of the Hindus, which are generally anti-Hindus. Her motivation appears to be anti-Hindu. But that is not her Ace-Card. Her Ace-Card is her mastery of Double-Talk that is saying one thing, and doing quite the opposite.

Why are so many Hindus of Bhaarat and of the world, tolerating this great outrage against the Hindu? Why are they not raising more hell than what they are doing at the present time? Why are most Hindus afraid to take a stand against these Phony-Liberal politicians, who have never been accused of being either smart or brave, they are purely opportunists? It is not impossible to change their mind or their decisions. How can we Hindus tolerate this outright-outrage against our Hindu religion? How can we allow these politicians to wreck our religion? We Hindus cannot abandon our mission of defending the Ram Sethu.

If more powerful marching, picketing, boycotting, and sit-ins etc don't come forth soon, then it would appear like another " Chamberlain-Moment " ( that is, the moment of Neville Chamberlain, the ex-prime minister of UK, during World War II ), who capitulated to Adolf Hitler.

It would then confirm the real story of the Hindu, that the Hindus are political prisoners in Bhaarat.

The incident is reported to have taken place at Shiv-Krishna Devasthan, situated near the new nursing college, where the 11- day Sarvojanik Ganesh Utsav celebrations are underway.
According to police reports, the temple, that was locked at around 9.30 pm after Saturday’s worship, was found vandalized Sunday morning.
The lock on the temple door was found broken and religious items, including the three-feet tall idol of Lord Ganesha, badly damaged. Several pictures were also seen scattered on the floor. Interestingly, the cashbox was found intact.
Though the police dog squad was pressed into service, no clues could be gathered. The Agassaim police have registered a case against unknown persons.
Early Sunday morning, a large CRPF battalion was deployed at the site to counter any eventuality as people began rushing to the temple on receiving the news.
The police also cordoned off the area as some groups allegedly attempted to hold condemnatory meetings.
The North District administration convened a meeting of the temple committee in the afternoon, following which the damaged idol was immersed. Thereafter, a new idol of Lord Ganesha was installed.
Additional Collector Swapnil Naik who was present at the meeting said, “We acceded to the committee’s request for police protection,” adding that compensation demands for damages caused will be forwarded to the Government। MLA Francis Silveira also visited the site।

गणपतीच्या मातीच्या मूर्तीची पूर्णतः मोडतोड केली. नंदीही उखडून टाकला. जड वस्तूचा प्रहार करून शिवलिंग व पिंडीही दुभंगून टाकली. मंदिरातील पितळी समया, देवतांच्या तसबिरीही माथेफिरूंच्या या कारवाईतून वाचू शकल्या नाहीत. काल रात्री दहा ते आज सकाळी सात या वेळेत हा प्रकार घडला व यामुळे आज त्या भागात काहीसे तणावाचे वातावरण निर्माण झाले.
बांबोळीला पणजीहून मडगावला जाताना उजवीकडे हे छोटेखानी मंदिर आहे. पोर्तुगीजकाळापासून तेथे शिवलिंग होते. मंदिरात गोकुळाष्टमी व शिवरात्रोत्सव साजरा करण्यात येतो. श्रावणी सोमवारला सत्यनारायण महापूजा होते. याशिवाय दर सोमवारी ग्रामस्थ मंदिरात भजनही करतात. तेथे गेल्या दशकात छोटेखानी मंदिर आकाराला आले. गेल्या काही वर्षांत मंदिरासमोर पत्र्याची शेडही उभी राहिली आहे. २००२ मध्ये मंदिराशी संलग्न भाविकांनी शिवकृष्ण देवस्थान ट्रस्ट स्थापन केला. पाच वर्षांपासून मंदिरात सार्वजनिक गणेशोत्सव साजरा करण्यात येत होता. गेल्या वर्षापर्यंत त्या मूर्तीचे विसर्जन पाचव्या दिवशी करण्यात येत होते. यंदा पाचवे वर्ष असल्याने अकरा दिवसांचा गणेशोत्सव साजरा करण्याचे ट्रस्ट व ग्रामस्थांनी ठरविले होते. भाविकांपैकी बहुतेकांना सुतक असल्याने त्यांनी पूजेची जबाबदारी गणपत भटजींकडे सोपविली होते. ते रात्री दहा वाजता पूजा करून घरी निघून गेले. त्यानंतर हा प्रकार घडला.
त्या परिसरात खणून केबल घालण्याचे वा तत्सम काम चालते. त्या कामावरील मजूर नेहमीप्रमाणे सकाळी दर्शनासाठी मंदिरात सात वाजण्याच्या सुमारास आले. त्यांच्या नजरेस हा प्रकार पडताच ते घाबरले. त्यांनी याची खबर गावात दिली. ग्रामस्थांकडून हा प्रकार ट्रस्टचे सचिव कमलाकांत काणकोणकर यांना कळला. ते सर्वप्रथम आठ वाजता मंदिरात आले.
त्यांनी "गोमन्तक' ला सांगितले, की गणपतीची मूर्ती होती असे सांगावे लागण्याइतपत मूर्तीवर प्रहार करण्यात आले होते. मातीच माती झाली होती. मूर्तीसमोरील तीन फुटी पितळी समईही तोडण्यात आली. वात लावतात तो भाग मुख्य भागापासून अलग करण्यात आला होता. मंदिराच्या मुख्य दरवाजाचे कुलूप तर तोडण्यात आलेच शिवाय मंदिराच्या भिंतीवर लावण्यात आलेल्या दत्तात्रय, श्रीकृष्ण आदी देवतांच्या तसबिरीही फोडून टाकण्यात आल्याने काचांचा खच पडला होता. नंदीही फोडण्यात आला होता. त्यावरूनच गाभाऱ्यात काय घडले असावे याचा पुरेसा अंदाज येत होता. मंदिरापासून जवळच असलेल्या घुमटीच्या कळसावरही जड वस्तूचा प्रहार करण्यात आला होता. विटंबना करण्यात आलेल्या मूर्तीच्या जागी दुपारी साडेचार वाजता नव्या मूर्तीची प्रतिष्ठापनाही करण्यात आली.
याची खबर पोलिसांना मिळाल्यावर पोलिसांनी घटनास्थळी भेट देऊन पाहणी केली व पंचनामा केला. आगशीचे पोलिस निरीक्षक सलीम शेख यांनी पंचनामा केला. त्यावेळी उपविभागीय पोलिस अधिकारी वेणू बन्सल उपस्थित होते. जिल्हाधिकारी मिहीर वर्धन यांनीही या मंदिराला भेट देऊन पाहणी केली. ग्रामस्थांच्या दुपारी झालेल्या बैठकीसही ते उपस्थित होते.
पंचनामा सुरू असताना तेथे उपस्थित बन्सल यांनी पोलिसांना सर्व गोष्टी तेथून त्वरित हटविण्याचे आदेश दिले. त्याला उपस्थित राजेंद्र वेलिंगकर व इतर ग्रामस्थांनी आक्षेप घेतला. ग्रामस्थांनी दुपारी साडेचार वाजता मंदिरात बैठक बोलावली होती. तोवर आहे तीच स्थिती कायम ठेवावी असे ग्रामस्थांचे म्हणणे होते. त्याला बन्सल तयार नव्हते. त्यामुळे इतस्ततः विखुरलेले साहित्य गोळा करणाऱ्या पोलिस कर्मचाऱ्यांना ग्रामस्थांनी अटकाव केला. त्यानंतर तेथे उपस्थितांपैकी मंदिराशी संबंधित कोण याची चौकशी पोलिसांनी सुरू केली. वेलिंगकर यांचा या मंदिराशी संबंध काय असेही बन्सल यांनी विचारले. त्यावर एक हिंदू म्हणून मी या मंदिरात येत होतो असे वेलिंगकर यांनी उत्तर दिले. शब्दाने शब्द वाढत चालला होता. त्यावर अधीक्षकांना भेटू असे सांगून बन्सल यांनी ग्रामस्थांना पणजीत आणले असे वेलिंगकर यांनी "गोमन्तक' ला सांगितले. ते म्हणाले, मी साडेचार वाजेपर्यंत त्या मंदिर परिसरात जाणार असे पोलिसांनी जबरदस्तीने माझ्याकडून लिहून घेतले. स्वातंत्र्याचा हा संकोच आहे. ग्रामस्थांना सत्यस्थिती समजावी म्हणून त्या भागाच्या साफसफाईस आक्षेप घेण्यात आला होता.
राज्यात मूर्तिभंजनाचे प्रकार वाढीस लागले असताना पोलिस त्यांना पकडण्यात अपयशी ठरत आहेत. ते अपयश झाकण्यासाठीच असे पवित्रे ते घेत आहेत. घटनास्थळी बजरंग दलाचे राज्यप्रमुख विनायक च्यारीही ग्रामस्थांशी चर्चा करताना दिसून आले.

चोरीप्रकरणातून तोडफोड नव्हे
दरम्यान, या शिवमंदिरातील गणेशमूर्ती, नंदी व शिवलिंग - पिंडीची तोडफोड करण्यामागे कोणाचा हात असू शकतो याबाबत चौकशी सुरू आहे. हे प्रकरण चोरीचे नाही, कारण मंदिरातील फंडपेटीचे कुलूप तोडण्यात आले नव्हते वा ती लंपासही करण्यात आलेली नाही. मंदिरात झालेला तोडफोडीचा प्रकार पाहता यामध्ये एकापेक्षा अधिक व्यक्तींचा समावेश असण्याची शक्‍यता नाकारता येत नाही. मंदिराच्या समितीचे सचिव कमलाकांत मं. काणकोणकर यांनी दिलेल्या जबानीत त्यांनी कोणावरही संशय व्यक्त केलेला नाही. या मंदिरातील सदस्यांशी किंवा कोणाशी वाद झालेला नाही, असे त्यांनी म्हटले असल्याचे आगशी पोलिसांनी सांगितले. तोडफोड करणारी व्यक्ती माथेफिरू असू शकत नाही. त्याने भान ठेवूनच हा सगळा प्रकार केला आहे. घटनास्थळी पोलिस श्‍वानाला पाचारण करण्यात आले. मंदिरातील तोडफोड झालेल्या काही वस्तूंचा वास या श्‍वानाला देण्यात आला. त्यानुसार हे श्‍वान या मंदिराच्या मागील बाजूने पुढे सरकत मानसोपचार इस्पितळाच्या मुख्य प्रवेशद्वारातून आत शिरले. तेथून ते इस्पितळाच्या बाह्यरुग्ण कक्षाच्या मागील बाजूने इस्पितळ वसाहतीकडून एका पायवटेकडे पोचले. सुमारे चाळीस ते पन्नास मीटर अंतर हे श्‍वान पुढे चालत जाऊन तेथेच घुटमळू लागले. या ठिकाणी संशयिताचे काही धागेदोरे सापडले नाहीत, अशी माहिती पोलिसांनी दिली.

I have come across some interesting information about the ownership of media in Bhaarat. What is media? Media is plural of medium. Mass media is the term used to denote, as a class, that section of the media specifically conceived and designed to reach a very large audience (typically at least as large as the whole population of a nation state). The word media was coined in the 1920s with the advent of nationwide radio networks and of mass-circulation newspapers and magazines. This includes messages that are distributed through the technologies, principally text in books, study guides and computer networks; sound in audio-tapes and broadcast: pictures in video-tapes and broadcast; text, sound and/or pictures in a teleconference. The means by which information is distributed such as print, broadcast, CD-ROM, World Wide Web, and so forth is also Media.

Mass media in Bhaarat is that part of the Indian media which aims to reach a wide audience. Besides the news media, which includes print, radio and television, the Internet is playing an

increasing role, along with the growth of the Indian blogging community. Compared with many other developing countries, the Indian press is relatively unfettered, except for obstacles in the way of setting up media companies which were part of the pre-1990 license Raj.

In 2001, India had 45,974 newspapers, including 5,364 daily newspapers published in over 100 languages. The largest number of newspapers were published in Hindi (20,589), followed by English (7,596), Marathi (2,943), Urdu (2,906), Bengali (2,741), Gujarati (2,215), Tamil (2,119), Kannada (1,816), Malayalam (1,505) and Telugu (1,289). The Hindi daily press has a circulation of over 23 million copies, followed by English with over 8 million copies.

There are several major publishing groups in India, the most prominent among them being the Times of India Group, the Indian Express Group, the Hindustan Times Group, The Hindu group, the Anandabazar Patrika Group, the Eenadu Group, the Malayalam Manorama Group, the Mathrubhumi group, the Sahara group, the Bhaskar group, and the Dainik Jagran group.

India has more than 40 domestic news agencies. The Express News Service, the Press Trust of India , and the United News of India are among the major news agencies. Let us see the ownership of different media agencies.

NDTV: A very popular TV news media is funded by Gospels of Charity in Spain supports Communism. Recently it has developed a soft corner towards Pakistan because Pakistan President has allowed only this channel to be aired in Pakistan . Indian CEO Prannoy Roy is co-brother of Prakash Karat, General Secretary of Communist party of India .

India Today which used to be the only national weekly who supported BJP is now bought by NDTV!! Since then the tone has changed drastically and turned into Hindu bashing.

CNN-IBN: This is 100 percent funded by Southern Baptist Church with its branches in all over the world with HQ in US. The Church annually allocates $800 million for promotion of its channel. Its Indian head is Rajdeep Sardesai and his wife Sagarika Ghosh.

Times group list:

Times Of India , Mid-Day, Nav-Bharth Times, Stardust, Femina, Vijaya Times, Vijaya Karnataka, Times now (24- hour news channel) and many more. Times Group is owned by Bennet & Coleman. “World Christian Council” does 80 percent of the Funding, and an Englishman and an Italian equally share balance 20 percent. The Italian Robertio Mindo is a close relative of Sonia Gandhi.

Star TV: It is run by an Australian, who is supported by St. Peters Pontificial Church Melbourne .

Hindustan Times: Owned by Birla Group, but hands have changed since Shobana Bhartiya took over. Presently it is working in Collobration with Times Group.

English daily, started over 125 years has been recently taken over by Joshua Society, Berne , Switzerland . Indian Express: Divided into two groups.

The Indian Express and new Indian Express (southern edition). Acts Ministries has major stake in the Indian Express and later is still with the Indian counterpart.

Eeenadu: Still to date controlled by an Indian named Ramoji Rao. Ramoji Rao is connected with film industry and owns a huge studio in Andhra Pradesh.

Andhra Jyothi: The Muslim party of Hyderabad known as MIM along with a Congress Minister has purchased this Telgu daily very recently.

The Statesman: It is controlled by Communist Party of India . Kairal TV: It is controlled by Communist party of India (Marxist)

Asian Age and Deccan Chronicle: Is owned by a Saudi Arabian Company with its chief Editor M.J. Akbar.

Once Robert Clive was asked as to how he conquered India with the help of some dozen Britishers. He said

Hindus could be bought with money and Muslims with women. He said "I did both". And British ruled India

for 300 years. When West Bengal was reeling under famine and 3 million people lost their lives, the

British exported rice from India . Anything more is required to show the cowardice of Hindus?"

Hindus continue to be slave of multi-national companies that bait them with seemingly good money and 'loyal' Hindus continue to lick their boots with passion. They have no time for their family and none for contributing something positive to their culture. They are making their careers but unmaking their children. Why we always want to be led by foreigners is a question every Hindu should ponder.

Pro – Hindu people talk about learning media skills or least sending their own children to learn journalistic skills Before having Hindu media, Hindus people must first need to learn to acquire the skills by doing courses and other ways of learning media and presentation techniques.

Getting the skills is the least of the problems. There are many Hindu journalists in India . And even if you have to train them, that too is pretty easy to do. Journalists can be trained on-the-job.

To get skilled personnel is the least of the problems. The biggest problem is getting the right media house.

Hindus have plenty of money and if they want they can buy a media house but even then they need creative skills to sell pro - Hindu news because you can't or shouldn't expect loyalty out of Hindus just to sustain a Hindu media house juts for the sake of it being Hindu. Quality and creativity sells which should be the weapon to the beat all other media houses.

Francois Gautier has started a Journalism School in India with the help of??? to train pro-Hindu Journalists… at Bangalore .

We all know this. Question is, why can't there be a media at par with IBN/NDTV / STAR / Indian express etc, which is controlled by Hindus? Why can't Pioneer, Organiser, Panchajanya become worldwide? There is anti Hindu media in Bhaarat, that does not mean that they cannot give the news about military along with Bollywood news.

In one of his interview Kalam has said that in our desi journals and media people still not represent a country of a billion people.

The Indian media has no ethics & has been anti Hindu for a long time especially NDTV. It is sad that we as Hindus cannot/ do not have our own TV Channel to correct the aberrations & project patriotism / Nationalism along with our ancient culture.

Journalism course can be same as it is in US or other Israel , etc.

When a person is pro-Vedic by nature and outlook, then he/she will look at the events in the Vedic light, and provide news and commentary to serve Vedic dharma and Rashtra interests.

Money generated from donations could be used for scholarship for journalism degrees.

Are some people saying that no university in Bharat offers a course in journalism?

If so, then we have to begin it somewhere.

We also need Vedic media of all kinds.

Many Vedic leaders with different abilities need to unite to make things happen.

For Stopping Conversion

The only solution, and probably the cheapest and fastest is to create our own Hindu media which will take the so called secular media head on. All these issues of forced conversions, Setu Samudram are NOT highlighted by the existing media. The anti Hindu media led by Christian fanatics are having a free run.
It is absolutely amazing that a giant organisation like RSS has got only two weekly news papers, ORGANISER & PANCHAJANYA which has got a circulation of few thousands.
Why can't we have media of the size and power of IBN, STAR, Indian Express etc? We are all intelligent people. If VHP can collect 2000 crores to build the ram temple, why can't they collect money to start some daily papers from the major cities of Bhaarat and a 24 hour news channel in Bhaarat? Every single news channel is busy spreading lies about Hindus. CNN/IBN & STAR, NDTV are the worst.
The frustration which we are venting out in this forum is fine but we need a BIG voice. Time is fast running out for Hindus.
There are news papers like PIONEER which are on our side. If they are funded properly they can take on the anti Hindu media.

Why the Ram Setu must not be destroyed? - Tarun Vijay

Sethusamudram, a project to create alternative shorter route for ships to cross the Gulf of Mannar, is a wonderful idea -- one which is more than 150 years old. The channel, originally an idea of a British commander named A D Taylor was put forth in 1860. In 1955, the Government of India set up the Sethusamudram project committee to look into the feasibility of the project and five routes were discussed till 2001 but nothing happened. The National Democratic Alliance government sanctioned a few crore rupees to study the project but before a final decision on the route could be taken, the government lost power.

The official web site of the project says, 'Ships originating from the west of India and destined for Chennai, Ennore, Vishakapatnam, Paradeep, Haldia and Kolkata have to travel around the Sri Lankan coast resulting in increase of travel distance and time. Apart from this ships belonging to Indian Navy and Coast Guard need also to traverse around Sri Lanka. In order to reduce the steaming distances between the east and west coast of India and to improve the navigation within territorial waters of India, a navigation channel connecting the Gulf of Mannar and Palk Bay through Adam's Bridge has been envisaged so that the ships moving between the east and west coasts of India need not go around Sri Lanka.' The total cost of the project is Rs 2,427 crores (Rs 24.27 billion).

But due to political expediency and a pathetic problem of a 'secular amnesia' about heritage matters, it has got a controversial hue, which could have been avoided if some transparency was maintained and points of collective sensitivities and faith were not ignored. The project is fine, but the present route is not, as it involves destruction of a bridge believed to have been built by Lord Rama and Muslims and Christians believe it to be Adam's creation.

Foreigners and Indians alike have described it as Rama's bridge since ancient times in their maps and travelogues. The first time someone called it Adam's Bridge was in 1804 by James Rennell, the first surveyor general of the East India Company. Even if the Government of India prefers to use the name Adam's Bridge, it simply proves that not only Hindus but Muslims and Christians too have a reverence for the bridge it is going to destroy.

Now when the media and political leaders are busy with the Uttar Pradesh election and exit polls, the Sethusamudram dredgers are busy destroying a great world heritage site India has.

The Ram Setu or Adam's Bridge connects India's Rameshwaram to Sri Lanka's Talaimannar. A movement has begun to safeguard it at the shores of Rameshwaram on April 18. Two former judges of the Supreme Court, Justice K T Thomas and Justice V R Krishna Iyer, none of them close to the saffron side, have warned the government against destroying the Ram Setu.

It is ironical that a government which changes the metro rail route to protect the Qutub Minar, built with the material of destroyed temples, stops a corridor to protect the Taj Mahal's surroundings and spends crores of rupees to showcase ancient potteries and jewellery in heavily guarded museums, is destroying a unique symbol of national identity and an icon well preserved in our minds since ages. Even a child knows that a bridge was built by the friends of Lord Rama using floating stones and Rama's army marched over it to Lanka to rescue Sita and destroy the evil regime of Ravana.

Hence during Dussehra every year and in dance dramas depicting Rama's life enacted across the globe, specially in East Asia, they never ever fail to mention the Setu Bandhan or the construction of Rama's bridge. Apart from the Ramayana, the Mahabharata also refers to the continued protection of Nala Setu following Sri Rama's command. Kalidasa's Raghuvamsham also refers to the Setu. So does the Skanda Purana (III 1.2.1-114), the Vishnu Purana (IV 4.40-49), the Agni Purana (V-XI), the Brahma Purana (138.1-40).

That is the memory so beautifully adopted by the Geological Survey of India in its logo, which describes India in this line etched at the bottom of its insignia -- Aasetu Himachal, meaning India is spread between the Bridge and the Himalayas. That is the Ram Setu Bridge on the southern tip of our motherland, an identity of the nation, under destruction now.

The credit of digging up material regarding the Ram Setu and providing impeccable factual content goes to Kalyan Raman, a former senior executive of the Asian Development Bank. He astounded even the government with his material on the entire project. His findings have stirred up protests from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha. Ashok Singhal of the VHP is spearheading a movement to protect the Ram Setu. He addressed a big public meeting in Rameshwaram with religious heads and Dr Subramanian Swamy. BJP leader and former Union human resources development minister Dr Murli Manohar Joshi has written to the prime minister, urging him to stop the destruction of the great heritage site.

The government, very 'secular and fair' indeed, tries not to remember or give any credence to what Hindus, Muslims and Christians believe, But this is what NASA says about the bridge, 'Exploring space with a camera by NASA's [193] Gemini XI, this photograph from an altitude of 410 miles encompasses all of India, an area of 1,250 000 square miles,' George M Low, then the deputy director, Manned Spacecraft Center, NASA, notes. 'Bombay is on the west coast, directly left of the spacecraft's can-shaped antenna, New Delhi is just below the horizon near the upper left. Adam's Bridge between India and Ceylon, at the right, is clearly visible...' We can see the picture dramatically resembles the description given in Kalidasa's Raghuvamsham. Kalidasa wrote, (sarga 13): 'Rama, while returning from Sri Lanka in Pushpaka Vimaana told Sita: "Behold, Sita, My Setu of mountains dividing this frothy ocean is like the milky way dividing the sky into two parts".'

The Encyclopedia Britannica describes the bridge thus, 'Adam's Bridge also called Rama's Bridge, chain of shoals, between the islands of Mannar, near northwestern Sri Lanka, and Rameswaram, off the southeastern coast of India.'

Apart from such issues of heritage and belief, there are genuine concerns regarding security and the tsunamis' impact increasing in case the Ram Setu is destroyed. If the new channel is created through the present Rama's bridge, international ships would pass through it making a de facto international boundary between India and Sri Lanka, facilitating an increased alien presence, burdening our navy to a great extent.

So far the sea between India and Sri Lanka has been recognised as historic waters, though the United States has been pressurising to have it declared as international waters and said in a naval notification in 2005 that it does not accept the sea between India and Sri Lanka as 'historic'. The US declaration and the role of the Tuticorin Port Trust, the nodal agency to implement the Sethu Samudram Canal Project coupled with the haste with which the project was inaugurated, has given rise to many unanswered questions.

The US Navy operational directive refusing to accept the sea between India and Sri Lanka as 'historic' was made on June 23, 2005. The Prime Minister's Office sent some queries in March 2005 to N K Raghupathy, chief of the Tuticorin Port Trust. He sent answers to the PMO's queries on June 30, 2005 and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh with United Progressive Alliance Chairperson Sonia Gandhi inaugurated the project on July 2, 2005. Why were the queries sent to the TPT and not to an agency which had scientific authority to look into the geological and maritime aspects of the project? Why did the prime minister and the UPA chairperson rush to inaugurate the project without, prima facie, having the time to look into the answers given by the TPT chief? Why was the present route okayed which essentially requires the destruction of the Ram Setu, while other options, closer to Dhanushkodi, which did not touch the Ram Setu were ignored?

Local fishermen, Hindus, Muslims and Christians alike oppose the present route and are demanding alternative channels, which are available. They say the present channel would destroy marine life and corals. This will kill the trade in shankas (shells) that has a turnover in excess of Rs 150 crore (Rs 1.5 billion) per annum. Invaluable thorium deposits would be affected, which are too important for our nuclear fuel requirements.

Professor Tad Murthy, the world renowned tsunami expert, who advised the Government of India on the tsunami warning system and edited the Tsunami Journal for over 20 years, has also warned that the present Setu Samudram route may result in tsunami waves hitting Kerala more fiercely. In a reply to a query regarding the Sethusanmudram's impact, he wrote, 'During the Indian Ocean tsunami of December 26, 2004, the southern part of Kerala was generally spared from a major tsunami, mainly because the tsunami waves from Sumatra region travelling south of the Sri Lankan island, partially diffracted northward and affected the central part of the Kerala coast. Since the tsunami is a long gravity wave (similar to tides and storm surges) during the diffraction process, the rather wide turn it has to take spared the south Kerala coast. On the other hand, deepening the Sethu Canal might provide a more direct route for the tsunami and this could impact south Kerala.'

The issue concerns us all, and should be taken up as Indians, without getting entangled in party lines and political games. The Ram Setu or Adam's Bridge belongs to all humanity, being an important heritage site; hence the government should not allow it to become another issue affecting Hindu sensitivities. Nobody is opposing the Sethu Samudram Project, only a realignment of the route is being asked, as the present one destroys the Ram Setu.

For mentally slave people there is debate about putting English and Urdu words in Hindi

All the Hindi media people use lots of English and Urdu words in Hindi. No body is certain how it started. In 1946 it was Times of India , when it brought out its Hindi edition of its paper it was named as Nav Bharat Times. When English word Times was used in Hindi for the first time, then people did not protest against the use of word Times in Hindi. There has never been any debate about the use of English and Urdu words in Hindi. It was just the writers, correspondents, journalists; editors who did not have good knowledge of Hindi started using English and Urdu words in Hindi. Many different kinds of Hindi media intentionally started using Urdu and English words in Hindi so that muslims who have got elementary knowledge of Hindi language would also understand printed and spoken Hindi. Many media people thought if lots of Urdu and English words are used in Hindi then the sale of their publications would increase.

There was never any debate about using of Urdu and Hindi words. Hindi has so many words that if you combine English and Urdu dictionaries, even then Hindi has got more Hindi words than the combined dictionaries of English and Urdu words. Then what is the necessity or sense in using Urdu and English words in Hindi?

People who use English and Urdu words in Hindi are either ignorant about the vastness of Hindi words or they have slave mentality. Such people come with one or the other reason for the use of English and Urdu words in Hindi. For them it has become fashion to use English and Urdu words in Hindi. One editor of a famous Hindi magazines said that while ladies talk amongst themselves use English words in conversation. To maintain the same pattern we use English words in Hindi so that they would feel comfortable. Such editors do not realize that with their Hindi media it is their duty to spread pure Hindi. If media would keep using Urdu and English words all the time in Hindi then the public would learn English and Urdu words rather than Hindi.

How the complaint is handled by about use of English and Urdu words in Hindi by the Hindi media people.

I came in contact with Late Bhai Akshay Kumar Jain (Chief Editor of "Navbharat Times) in 1956 till 1965 when I went Kabul . At that time he used to encourage the students of schools of Darya Ganj to use pure Hindi words in their daily life, as he was living in Darya Ganj at that time.
Bhai Akshay ji never told me about the great debate since independence about using English and Urdu words in his Newspaper "Navbharat Times."
According to my knowledge he never used English or Urdu words in his editorial of his paper i.e. 'Navbharat Times.'

BBC Hindi service is one of the worst services for using Urdu and English words in Hindi while proper Hindi words are available.
Its head is Ms. Achla Sharma. She is Hindu but she is married to a Muslim and still maintaining her Hindu name after marrying to a Muslim.
Urdu is a language of Muslims. I do not know if Achla Sharma plays some part for the use of so many Urdu words in Hindi. On Hindi service many Times Muslims and Pakistani Journalists come on the air who cannot speak even single sentence in Hindi.
I think the present staff of Hindi service is most unworthy people. Either these do not know Hindi or for some unknown reasons do not want to use Hindi. Even the journalists and correspondents who provide news are also worst people for speaking impure Hindi.

I want that most of the present Hindi staff of BBC Hindi service be fired or at least all the Hindi staff members be given warning for using pure Hindi.
If BBC Hindi management cannot find persons who cannot speak pure Hindi then Hindi service must be closed down.
Hindi service is listened by many million people.
On the name of Hindi, BBC Hindi service is spreading Urdu in the world.
I do not know the right person to whom I can take my concerns about the quality of Hindi.

We can't help the ignorance of the editor, they do not know in the West unless English is used or French then you are denied all sorts of access to jobs etc, France is a good example of how to overcome the tide of English, these people don't know nobody speaks English in Japan, Russia, or France yet these countries are world leaders in many fields. Airbus the plane maker uses French in all its production lines. The editor is the result of 150years of British destruction of Indian languages plus the slave mentality showing through. They may not realize that English is such a weak language and is only propped up by the wall of money these countries have stolen over the centuries from India and other places.

In a letter written 19 days before his death, Mahatma Gandhi had admonished those who were opposing Urdu, asking them not to copy "the bad manners of Pakistan with a vengeance" while advocating that it should be jointly recognised with Devanagari as national scripts.
In the letter, a rare manuscript that will go under hammer at Christie's in London on July 3, Gandhi said opposing Urdu will "put a wanton affront" on the Muslims, who "in the eyes of Hindus have become aliens in their own land".
Writing in his journal 'Harijan' on January 11, 1948, Gandhi, who appeared disturbed with the dwindling circulation of its Urdu edition, said in the letter that it is likely to be stopped.
Praising Urdu, which he said "is set free from bondage of orthodoxy", he asserted that those who learn it will "lose nothing but gain". At the same time he urged Muslims to learn Devanagari to "enrich their intellectual" capital and subscribe to his journal.
Indian government has stepped up efforts to acquire the letter which is likely to be sold for 9,000 to 12,000 pounds.

AMARNATH ON DESPITE MELTING SHIVA LINGA: While Shivalingam melts, faith doesn't- In an apparent attempt to avoid a controversy over man-made lingam that had created a storm across the country last year, authorities said on 1 July that the ice Shivalingam at the holy cave shrine of Amarnath melted completely due to rise in temperature.

"The Shivalingam has completely melted. It was too warm in the shrine vicinity,'' said Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) CEO Arun Kumar. He, however, said premature melting due to rise in temperatures was unusual.

After achieving a height of 12 feet in early June, the lingam had shrunk to eight feet a week ago. "The Shivalingam was 12 feet in height and thin when the governor visited the cave on June 9. When I visited on June 25, it had been reduced to eight feet. But on 1 July it was completely melted,'' Kumar said. Global warming is one of the major factors for early melting of the lingam, he added.

Meanwhile the board, which had postponed the Amarnath pilgrimage scheduled to begin on Saturday because of bad weather along the route to the holy cave, declared it open on 1 July. J&K governor S K Sinha, who is also ex-officio chairman of the board, visited the cave in the morning. The board said though steps were taken to preserve the ice lingam, its hands were tied because of a Jammu and Kashmir High Court order restraining it from doing anything that constituted tampering of the lingam.

Temple authorities, however, said the disappearance of the lingam would not dampen the spirit of the pilgrims. Thousands of devotees traversed the rugged terrain from Baltal and Chandanwari to reach the temple on Sunday. Hundreds more stood in the queue early morning adjacent to the sanctum sanctorum to join the governor in the 'pratham pooja', board spokesman Madan Mantoo said. Every year, millions of pilgrims trek a treacherous mountain track to the Amarnath shrine, located 12,700 feet above sea level.

3. CHRISTIANS IN NORTH EAST MAY LOSE MINORITY STATUS: The very concept of minority status may soon change diametrically with the proposed 103rd amendment to the Constitution making minorities like Christians lose their exclusive status in states of Meghalaya, Mizoram and Nagaland where they are numerically in majority.

Interestingly, Hindus in these states would be treated as minority and enjoy the status, the proposed amendment that is bound to create a storm said. The amendment approved in the Union Cabinet recently is likely to be brought in the coming monsoon session of the Parliament next month, as per the report of the National Commission for Minority Education.

The 103rd Constitutional Amendment seeks to have state-wise minority status rather than national status, as is the norm now. Minorities in states will be decided through a presidential notification in consultation with the state government.

Incidentally, the National Commission for Minority Education says the amendment will make Christian students from Meghalaya , Mizoram, Nagaland ineligible for admission in Christian colleges like St Stephens, as they will not have domicile minority status.

Likewise, Sikhs from Punjab and Muslims from J&K will not have minority status. Christian-run institutions in Kerala and other states may also lose their minority tag. Commission Chairperson, MMA Siddique has written to HRD Minister Arjun Singh and Minority Affairs Minister A R Antulay saying the constitutional amendment that the Cabinet approved in May first week is against the spirit of Article 30 of the Constitution. Articles 25 to 30 guarantee protection of religious, cultural and educational rights to both majority and minority communities.

Meanwhile, the All India Catholic Union, the All India Christian Council and the United Christian Action have reacted strongly to the decision of the Center and decided to go ahead with a national consultation on the issue in collaboration with major organizations of other religious minorities.

In search of attaining Swaraj - Prem Sabhlok

After 60 years of independence have we achieved Swaraj (self-rule)? The Bhagavad-Gita tells us in Chapter 3 that "He who shirks righteous action never attains freedom." Have we been guilty of shirking our responsibilities even inadvertently during the last six decades in an Independent Bhaarat to achieve our goal of Swaraj (self-rule) akin to perfect democratic freedom?
Before 1947 our leaders particularly Gandhi ji, Subhash Chander Bose, Pt Nehru and others said:
1. Sawarj is my birth right
2. That government is best which governs the least, because its people discipline themselves. The disciplined people of Bhaarat would govern themselves to ensure withering away of the state.
3. Give me blood, I'll give you Freedom,
4. The legacy of India is that 400 millions will govern themselves.

A. Point to consider
After 60 years of our Independence have we achieved Swaraj, Freedom, and the authority to govern ourselves?
Union of Soviet Socialist Republic was an independent country but negligible freedom to its citizens. Finally it broke down to a number of independent states. Thus it proves that Independence and Freedom are two vastly different concepts.
B. Point to consider
What has made us to believe for six decades that socialism, democracy, independence and freedom, Swaraj mean the same? In the Constitution of India "We the People" of Bhaarat are sovereign. Amendments 73 and 74 allow us democracy at grass root level.
C. Point to consider
In what way democracy has reached at the grass root level when the government nominees continue to control / guide the local urban / rural governments?
Article 51-A refers to Fundamental Duties of the citizens. According to Art 51-A (h and j) citizen's duty is to develop scientific outlook and spirit of Inquiry and Reform.
D. Point to consider
What kind of reforms in administration, systems and procedures we have jointly succeeded during the last six decades. Most of our Associations, Organisations, and Departments are still governed with pre 1947 rules and even 1860, 1861 and 1864 Acts.
Many intellectuals perceive our Constitution is excellent in its democratic contents but has been ruined in its implementation by political leaders, bureaucrats and insensitive citizens. The Constitution is now perceived as Grammar of Democratic Anarchy.

D. In Swatantra Bharat ex-colonial languages English and Urdu have become dominant languages in every field of Bhaarat rather than Sanskrit, Hindi and other Bhaaratiya languages.

E. Point to consider
Where we have gone wrong in the implementation of the constitution?
After 60 years of our Independence now corruption is parading up and down in the corridors of government, markets, Social organization like Non Government Organisations, religious places etc. Cities after cities are becoming urban nightmares with no choice for the residents to go where? In the entire world, Bhaarat has got the most centralized Administration / Government but not capable of delivering goods. Govts / Bureaucrats take more interest in land /property deals, petty civic amenities contracts etc but little interest in Defence, Law and Order, Security, External Affairs, Public Finance etc. Articles after articles are appearing in newspapers about fratricide in Army etc but no solution is insight.
How should we proceed forward in the 61st year of our Independence ? Kindly feel free to actively participate in this open debate to find some workable solution.
It is high time we give serious thoughts on these and many other matters and find early solution before it becomes too late and unsocial elements take full control of Central / State Governments through their fixed vote banks, supplemented by purchased and manipulated vote banks. How long we shall continue to blame governments, political parties and bureaucracy? Perhaps blame lies in our insensitivity and feeling of gross helplessness.
If people in USA, Europe, and Australia etc can govern themselves for their civic, social and community welfare functions through their non partisan City Councils / Village Shire Councils without any government nominee, why in Bhaarat we can not do so? Luckily for us guidelines, benchmarks and self governing systems and procedures are readily available in the world, we have to simply apply and implement.
When we shall get ready? Choice is to have continuous drawing room /coffee house chatter or come in the field to make Bhaarat the best place to live in.

E... These numbers do not give money received by Muslim organizations from Saudia Arabia etc. It is believed that some of this money comes through the 'hawala' route.

In a speech once Swami Vivekananda said the Semitic religions put all humanity in a cage with no choice of expression ignoring likings and disliking about individual’s choice about ways of worship and believing or not believing. Hinduism is not a straight jacket religion like Semitic religions. Hinduism is elastic in nature. Hindu religion defies the tyranny of homogeneity like Semitic religion.

Hindu religion is an open system. Hindus have freedom of worship and thoughts. Freedom divides the minds and sometimes even it kills. Anti Hindu people with Hindu name take advantage of freedom of thought created divisions amongst Hindus. Hindu religion is not based on one person and one book. Like Mecca Hindus have many religious centers spread all over Bharat. So Hindus are no less as compared to Semitic religion, Sikhs or Buddhists in having religious books or religious centers.

In the evening of the last 20ty century the idyll of communism was shattered and the Lies were finally laid to rest. PUNE, India–As a Dalit, Pratibha Valmik Kamble is part of the poorest and most ostracized community in this subcontinent's ancient caste system, a group of people so shunned that they are still known as untouchables.

Her mother is a maid, her father a day labourer.

Yet here in this prospering city, Kamble, 24, was recently applying to an Indian firm called Temp Solutions to go to Philadelphia for a well-paid social service job there.

During the interview, she twisted her hands nervously in her lap, knowing that if she landed the position, she would not only make more money than both of her parents combined, she would enhance their social status, and her own.

India has long had an affirmative action program for federal government jobs, setting aside 23 per cent of positions for the most oppressed castes.

Now, activists are campaigning to open the private sector to them as well, whether the employer is Indian or multinational. Many Hindus favour that goal.

So does Temp Solutions co-owner Michael Thevar, himself a member of a low-ranking caste. He gave Kamble the job.

"I'm so proud of you," he told her after delivering the good news. "I know so well how much you struggled. That's why I am that much more impressed."

Kamble's eyes went wet as she straightened her mustard-coloured outfit and smiled, appearing to be almost embarrassed by his praise.

Recruiting drives aimed at hiring members of India 's unprivileged castes, who make up 70 per cent of the population, remain rare in the subcontinent's booming service sector. But as India hurtles into world markets, such hiring has touched off a larger debate over the country's 3,000-year-old caste system.

"Caste should not be globalized, and as India rises economically, that is the real fear," said Thevar.

"I think this is the moment in India for us all to stand up and tell the world that we are capable. There is no longer such a thing as untouchable in the world."

The issue here is complicated by India 's turbulent history of race, class and caste. Centuries-old customs of arranged marriages and inherited professions perpetuate caste divisions, which are further reinforced by some interpretations of Hinduism, India 's dominant religion, which sanctions the caste system.

It has become part of Christian missionary’s work to first start a school by telling
to educate children and then by conducting prayers and converting the school into Church. Earlier, this experiment was tried near well-known Vighneswara temple at Kanipakam in Chittor district. For some time their activities continued. Immediately after this was known to the people, the church which was converted from school had to be closed. Before forgetting that a case was booked against the organizers of this Church, another incident took place in Medaram village of Warangal District. Medaram village is a well-knownplace where large religious conglomeration known by
name Sammakka-Saralamma mela takes place once in two years on a grand scale. Lakhs of devotees which includes girijans and all others hailing from Andhra
Pradesh, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh States participate in the fair. Two years ago, an English medium school by C.S.I. Church organization started close to mela site. The school was subsequently converted into prayer reciting place and later into a church and then conversions started taking place. They created divisions in the local girijans. Local people agitated protesting the conversions. For two months Adivasi Sangh, local leaders and various sections of people have demanded ban on propagation of Christianity and religious conversions. On 24 th July 07, Adivasi employees’s associations, local mandal officials met district collector and submitted representations asking ban on religious conversions and to remove the Church recently built there.

Responding positively to the peoples’ pleas, the collector directed local officials
to submit a report on the activities on propagation of Christianity and on receiving the report instructed the officials to remove the Church. The circle inspector then accordingly asked the C.S.I. Church organizers to remove it. On 30th July 07, C.S.I.Church people themselves dismantled the Church and shifted the articles to Tadvai mandal center. Thus local Church officials had to remove the Church
by themselves.

They are fully aware of the Government G.O., which bans Christian religious propagation close to such prominent temples. Yet such incidents are taking place with continuous attempt to violate the above law. It has to be seen as to what happens at other pilgrim places like Kanipakam, Vijayawada Durga temple and Girijan’s pilgrim’s center Medaram etc. Whose support is forthcoming for such activities of religious propagation is not known and Government should conduct enquiry into it. It is the responsibility of the Government to take precautions to see that such incidents are not repeated and tense situations donot build up. Various Hindu organizations are asking the Government to order thorough enquiry into the whole episode.

Havoc caused to Hindus by converted Hindus

Since the advent of Islam, it has been found that a converted Hindus has caused havoc on Hindus rather more than some other Muslims. Who could forget what happened to East Bengal Hindus who, centuries ago, were converted by the Muslim Nawab who was rebuffed when his daughter wanted to marry a young man from a Brahmin family. He wanted his whole family to become Hindu so that his beloved daughter could marry the Brahmin boy, but the priests would not permit that. This hardline resulted in the young man himself converting to Islam and ruthlessly converting the vast Hindu majority.

Read the history of some important converted Hindu persons, who tried their best to destroy Hindu religion after conversion to Islam or at least damaged Hindu religion to a great extent.

Caste is another factor which is used by non-Hindus for getting conversions from Hindu community and also basing, abusing Hindu community. Although these non-Hindu communities may have their own caste and class systems.

As news reported on Aug 6, 2005, a resident of Baderwa of Nijgarh, Pundit Akhilesh Pandeya is busy convincing local communities to go for intercaste marriage. "Intercaste wedlock produces the best offspring's," he says.

"In a village community like ours, intercaste marriage is the best and most effective solution to the problem of caste discrimination," he says. "Many families have prospered, and their children have turned out intelligent and healthy." Citing from the Mahabharat, he says, "Arjun and Pandu were born out of inter caste wedlock."

He argues that his campaign should come as a relief for lovers belonging to different castes, whose love cannot flower due to the objections of orthodox parents.

Even local priests avoid performing inter caste marriage rituals. However, Pandeya, a modern priest, prefers to perform inter caste marriage ceremonies. He even refuses to accept "fee" for performing the ritual.

* If I am not wrong then 'Panchjanya' Hindi Weekly to encourage ICM, was publishing a matter regularly who adoped ICM. If we give in this way encouragement to ICM then it is good. Lucky is that youth who have arranged marriage with the choice of both.

* In 1918-19 it was a Patidar who introduced an Inter caste Marriage Bill to regularize the practice. The social hypocrisy of asserting the vanity of being of upper class among all Indian groups appears to be for no reason other than self and group vain glory.

* There were Inter caste marriages even in Mahabharat times. Even the SC recently ruled that the caste of the father applies to the children born out of such wedlock and not vice versa. This proves that the caste system will not vanish with inter caste marriages as such.

* Veer Savarkar worked hard to protect minority rights. During the celebration of Hindu festivals, Savarkar visited Muslim and Christian homes to promote good will. He encouraged Inter caste marriage and assisted Dr. Ambedkar in the liberation of the untouchables.

HYDERABAD: The city police have registered a case against controversial Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen, who was recently attacked by workers of Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) here, for allegedly creating ill-feeling among communities.
The writer has been booked under IPC Section 153 (A) (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, language etc) on a complaint registered by MIM legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi, police said on Saturday.
In his complaint, Akbaruddin alleged that Kolkata-based Taslima had hurt the sentiments of the community with her writings and speeches against Islam, police said.
Akbaruddin, MIM floor leader in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, had threatened to kill the exiled author if she visited Hyderabad again.
A group of MIM activists, led by three party MLAs, stormed the Press Club on Thursday and attacked Nasreen who was there to attend a book release function.

Our youth are future citizens of this country. They should immediately get converted to Christianity to bring them on the right path. *(Why Joyce Meyer is not spreading Christianity in Western countries where people are Christians by birth).* They should be disciplined till the age of 15 years. If this work is undertaken on war footing, in the next 5 years, 100 crores of youth would become Christians, disciples of Jesus. *(Meyer is very systematically trying to mislead youth of this country and spreading Christianity).* We need financial strength to achieve this goal and every entrepreneur and social worker should extend financial support so that new churches can be built to train people. At the end of the program a message is given that they are spreading love of Jesus to everyone so also poor people are given food and clothing and medical service to patients. *(Pro-Christian Government will not do anything for Hindus and take action against Christians. Baramati ( Maharashtra ): Hindu devout ladies submitted a representation to Shri. Samir Shingate, the Tehsildar that the propagation of Christianity going on over the 'Sahyadri' and 'DD' channels run by the secular (?) Congress Government should be immediately stopped.

Shri. Shigate informed that the Government channels can't indulge in propagation of any particular religion. The program is facing opposition even at other places in the State. The ladies went door to door to create awareness among people on the topic and explained to them about the program. They also obtained signatures on the representation.

The ladies, when contacted, informed that they experienced happiness to do something for protection of Dharma and showed their willingness in starting such drive against anti-Superstitions Act.

How come this has not come to the notice of VHP, RSS, BD, and BJP? All regional DDs channels beam this programme and DD reaches the maximum number of households in India . This is a serious matter of the state promoting a particular religion.

Addressing media persons here, Jatia set a target of two lakh signatures for the State of Karnataka .

They rose to those positions NOT because they belonged to particular caste, but because they proved to be fighters.

So, why do we cry about the existence of castes?

1. The rationale that Varnashrama of the Hindu is the reason for the conversion of Hindus to Christianity by Christian Missionaries and Islam religion is total-tommyrot. It conceals and trivializes the true intention of the Missionaries, which motivates them to specifically target Hindus for conversion. It covers up the aggressive Ideology of Christianity,

Christianity has nothing but contempt for all Non-Christian Infidels of the world, who are labeled as Heathens / Pagans. Christians are more than 110 % certain that, there is no hope for these Heathens, they are on their way to Hell, and it is the duty of a Christian, to save them from this terrible fate, by converting them to Christianity, no matter what it takes. There is no other way that a Non-Christian Heathen can have access to Heaven.

2. Because of the aggressive nature of Christian Ideology, and the teaching of its Gospel of Hate, the sight of a single Non-Christian Heathen in the world, is a pain in the A** to a Christian. That is why a Christian has an Unlimited-Yearning to convert and conquer the entire Non-Christian world; he wants the whole world to be ruled by Jesus Christ. Like Islam, Christianity is a Replacement Religion; it came to replace all Non-Christian religions. It did not come to make peace with Non-Christian religions, but to eradicate all Non-Christian religions. Because of this cardinal reason, it has never conducted any constructive criticism of any Non-Christian religion, it has always considered itself at war with these Non-Christian religions, and has sought to uproot the culture and traditions of the converted people.
3. Because of this fundamental drive, in Bharat / India the Christians want not only to convert Hindus to become Christians, but to turn the converted Hindus into Collaborators, in demolishing Hinduism in the country of India, by destroying the beliefs of the Hindu in his Hinduism. Thus Christianity's war against the Heathen religions of the world is a sweeping war in totality.
To label Christianity as a problem only, undermines the crookedness of Christianity, and jeopardizes the survival of the Hindus. Christianity, like Islam, is a Monster, a Dragon, bent upon swallowing the entire Non-Christian flock of the world, and must be resolutely confronted. Any Hindu who thinks that he can calm the fury of the Christian-Dragon, or that Christianity can be modified, amended, or altered, belongs on the Funny-Farm, he is the biggest fool in the world. He is totally unable to grasp the fact that Christianity's terrible animus against Non-Christian religions, is in the nature of the beast (the Christian beast).

4. There are three more things about Christianity, that needs to be studied. We must ask the Hindu leaders to come out in open and talk in simple and clear words that this is the last and final battle to save Hindu-India. The BJP MUST HAVE LEARNT THE LESSON IN 2004 DEFEAT. There is no room for second blunder. BJP must declare its Hindu Agenda. BJP must not follow the policy of appeasement of Muslims /Christians.
It must be clear to them that Muslims will not vote them. They are all for Islamic Congress party of Sonia Gandhi or other pro-Muslim parties.
The solution is not easy to come. Even the BJP government dared not introduce a law banning forceful conversions - what did their committed Hindu voters get out of their rule? Nothing. So it is important to create a Hindu vote bank irrespective of these politicians and vote for those who will not at least harm the Hindu interests.

But the biggest folly, in this shooting-script, is the disregard of the Hindu, for his own welfare and survival. You say Caste is our downfall, but how? There were no castes in Egypt , Syria , Iraq , Iran , Turkey and Afghanistan . For Stopping Conversion

The only solution, and probably the cheapest and fastest is to create our own Hindu media which will take the so called secular media head on. All these issues of forced conversions, setu samudram are NOT highlighted by the existing media. The anti Hindu media led by Christian fanatics are having a free run.
It is absolutely amazing that a giant organisation like RSS has got only two weekly news papers, ORGANISER & PANCHAJANYA which has got a circulation of few thousands.
Why can't we have media of the size and power of IBN, STAR, Indian Express etc? We are all intelligent people. If VHP can collect 2000 crores to build the ram temple, why can't they collect money to start a 24 hour news channel in India ? Every single news channel is busy spreading lies about Hindus. CNN/IBN & STAR TV are the worst.
The frustration which we are venting out in this forum is fine but we need a BIG voice. Time is fast running out for Hindus.
There are news papers like PIONEER which are on our side. If they are funded properly they can take on the anti Hindu media.
