History and Facts About Ram Setu

The ancient holy epic Valmiki Ramayan, there is elaborate description about construction of Setu. Its a great world heritage site India has. The Ram Setu connects the India’s Rameshwaram to Sri Lanka’s Talaimannar. Hindu believe that this ancient bridge was built by Lord Rama, as described in Ramayana.

Apart from Ramayana, the Mahabharata also refers to the continued protection of Nala Setu following Sri Rama’s command. Kalidasa’s Raghuvamsham also refers to the Setu. So does the Skanda Purana(III.1.2.1-114), the Vishnu Purana (IV 4.40-49), the Agni Purana(V-XI), the Brahma Purana (138.1-40).

The core agency, The Geological Survey of India has in its logo, Asetu Himachal, means ….The India from Setu to Himalaya.

The Encyclopedia Britanica defines the bridge thus, “Adam’s Bridge also called Rama’s Bridge, chain of shoals, between the islands of Mannar, near northwestern Sri Lanka and Rameswaram, off the southeastern coast of India”.

Recently NASA satellite images indicates clear picture of a broken bridge under the ocean. The heritage of this Ram Setu and the Story of Lord Rama, both are extremely sacred to Hindus.

The geographically Sethusamudram, is a project to create alternative shorter way for ships to cross the Gulf of Mannar. The project was initiated some 150 years back by a British Commander A D Taylor. In 1955, Govt. of India set up the Sethusamudram Project Committee to assess possibility of the project and about five alternative routes were discussed till 2001. The NDA sanctioned a fund to study the project so as to take final decision on the route but the government lost power.

The official web site of project states that Ships coming from West of India and going to Chennai, Ennore, Vishakapatnama, Haldia and Kolkta have to travel around the Sri Lankan coast resulting in increase of travel distance and time. Therefore, to reduce distances between the east and west coast of India and to improve the navitation within territorial waters of India, a alternate route or channel connecting the Gulf of Mannar and Palk Bay has been envisaged so that the ships moving between the east and west coasts of India need not go around Sri Lanka. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 2,427 crores.

On the decision to destroy Ramsetu and create an alternative route by Government of India, the Hindus have raised their voice. The Governemnt has changed the metro rail route to protect the Qutub Minar, stops a corridor to protect the Taj Mahal’s surroundings. Even a child knows that a bridge was built by Lord Rama, using floating stones to reach to Lanka to rescue Sita anddestroy the evil regime of Ravana.

The movement started to save Ramsetu at the shores of Rameshwaram on April,2007. Two former judges of Supreme Court, Justice K T Thomas and Justice V R Krishna Iyer, none of them close to the saffron side, have warned the government against destroying the Ram Setu.

Local fishermen, Hindus, Muslims and Christians alike oppose the present route and are demanding alternative channels, which are available. They say the present channel would destroy marine life and corals. This will kill the trade in shankas(Shells) that has a turnover in excess of Rs 150 crore(Rs. 1.5 billion) per annum. Invaluable thorium deposits would be affected, which are too important for our nuclear fuel requirement.

Thus, the issues concern us all, and should be taken up as Indian without getting falling in party lines and political agendas. The Ram Setu or Adam Bridge belongs to all humanity, being an important heritage site; hence the government should not all it to become another issue affecting Hindu sensitivities. Nobody is opposing the Sethu Samudram Project, only a realignment of the route is being asked, as the present one destroys the Rame Setu.

Troubles in Bhaarat due to not paying attention to Chanakya Niti - 1

Chankaya has said long time ago that a person from foreign country should not be given top position in the country. If such person is to be given high position, then he / she has to go through a long process of verification and conversion to prove his / her loyalty to the country, its religion, its culture, its language, its traditions etc.

It seems that Bharatiya people have forgotten the wisdom of Chanakya Niti and has promoted a Christian lady to a higher position in Bhaarat who was just a restaurant maid and has spoken many kinds of lies about his qualifications and about many other facts of her life. As Sonia / Maino’s name is associated with Nehru Gandhi family, she has been given the top most position in the country. Nehru Gandhi persons were curse for Bhaarat so Sonia is also proving curse for Bhaarat keeping the tradition of her family.

She belongs to Christian faith, which is not the main faith of the country. Christianity has destroyed many religions and cultures through out his history. This uneducated maid lady, using her top position in Bhaarat is bent upon destroying the ancient religion and culture of Bhaarat. The first Speaker of parliament of Independent Bhaarat made a comment in inauguration speech that it was the greatest thing that Bhaarat became slave of British people. There are still many persons in Bhaarat who believe that it was the greatest thing for Bhaarat to become slave of British people. Such people are still mentally slave people and still trying to be slave people of British people by other ways by adopting every thing British like language, way of living and dressing up, education, manners, behaviour etc.

Such people consider every Bhaaratiya thing may be language, religion, culture, traditions, foods, ethos, manners etc. of inferior quality and they are helping the foreign Christian lady in destroying Bhaaratiya religion, culture and languages etc.

With 80% of the population professing Hindu faith, how could we allow a wing of government of India have the
audacity to attack our sacred avatar: Rama. Who gave this Parsi the courage to file such a document with
the highest court of the country? Some heads have to roll at least symbolically for this affront to our faith and withdrawal of the affidavit without a public apology to the Hindus is not an acceptable action. Where are the Hindus on the cabinet of Man Mohan Singh, the members of our parliament in the ruling coalition, the state governments who did not say anything about this? I did not hear any loud protests from them. Where is the media? Have they all become impotent or lackeys of foreign faiths?

Setusamudram project a conspiracy against Hindus: Puri seer

Puri, Sep 15 : Puri Goberdhan Peeth Sankaracharya Swamy Neeschalananda Saraswati today alleged that the attempt to destroy the Ramsethu for the Setusamudram shipping canal project was a ''conspiracy'' against Hindu ethos and religious beliefs.

In a statement here, the Puri seer, quoting Hindu religious scripts, said Bhagwan Ram had constructed the Setu in Tretya Yug to reach Lanka to free his wife Sita.

The Shankaracharya said if anyone tried to destroy the Setu, the person should be ousted from the country.

He urged all the other Sankaracharyas to fight against such move.

Causing injuries to Majority community by govt. dominated by foreign Christian lady

A Central Government-approved affidavit claimed before the Supreme Court that there is no ‘historic’ or ‘scientific’ evidence of the existence of the Maryada Purushottom. This contemptuous attitude towards Hindu civilization’s greatest moral exemplar has caused shock all over the Hindu universe, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, to Trinidad & Tobago, Fiji, Guyana, Mauritius, Myanmar, Kampuchea, Indonesia, Bali, Malaysia, Nepal, Java, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand; regions whose national culture has been shaped by the benign presence of Shri Rama.

There is a new and escalating insensitivity in Bhaaratiya secular thought, which not only insistently neglects the sensibilities of the majority community, but, worse, appears eager to cause injury to such sentiments. Bhaaratiya’s opportunistic political secularists - as distinct from those who are, in fact and practice, actually wedded to the secular ideology - feel that they cannot sufficiently proclaim their secularism without displaying at least a measure of contempt for Hindu beliefs and practices.

The legend of Ram and Ramayana - archaeological evidence or no archaeological evidence - has primal resonances in the civilisation, culture and multiple identities, not only of Bhaarat and among Hindus, but among the people of the entire South and South-East Asian region, and occasionally well beyond. Many people would recall watching films and theatrical performances - Ram Lilas - based on Ramayan from earliest childhood, and one of the most exciting scenes was the vaanar sena building the bridge to Lanka with rocks inscribed with the name of their Lord. These are images embedded in the consciousness of millions across Bhaarat and beyond, and to trivialise this by anti Hindus, Christians and phony pseudo seculars is to misunderstand the very nature of governance.

There is an increasing fraud and dishonesty at the core of the Bhaaratiya secular establishment.

The members of the UPA government in Bhaarat, seem to be bent upon removing the Ram Sethu, one of the holiest Hindu sites. Most of the proponents of this destruction-project are Phoney-Liberal politicians, who have their interest, in promoting the welfare of the minority communities, at the cost of the Hindus. There are plenty of Phoney-Liberals in Bhaarat, who are willing to defend the minorities and speak for them. But they have neither interest nor any sympathy for the Hindus. Their hypocrisy is pathetic and a fraud against the Hindus, for which these politicians should feel ashamed of themselves, but they never feel embarrassed nor humiliated, even though the Hindu always comes out at the short end of the stick, as a result of their phony-liberal bias.

One of these Phony-Liberal politicians is a well-known member of the Congress Party, by name Ambika Soni, who is also a Christian lady. Ambika Soni has been close to the Gandhi family, for a long time, first time to Sanjay Gandhi, and now to Sonia Gandhi. She enjoys considerable power and influence in the Congress Party. Several Hindu leaders are unhappy at the positions that she takes, with respect to the issues of the Hindus, which are generally anti-Hindus. Her motivation appears to be anti-Hindu. But that is not her Ace-Card. Her Ace-Card is her mastery of Double-Talk that is saying one thing, and doing quite the opposite.

Why are so many Hindus of Bhaarat and of the world, tolerating this great outrage against the Hindu? Why are they not raising more hell than what they are doing at the present time? Why are most Hindus afraid to take a stand against these Phony-Liberal politicians, who have never been accused of being either smart or brave, they are purely opportunists? It is not impossible to change their mind or their decisions. How can we Hindus tolerate this outright-outrage against our Hindu religion? How can we allow these politicians to wreck our religion? We Hindus cannot abandon our mission of defending the Ram Sethu.

If more powerful marching, picketing, boycotting, and sit-ins etc don't come forth soon, then it would appear like another " Chamberlain-Moment " ( that is, the moment of Neville Chamberlain, the ex-prime minister of UK, during World War II ), who capitulated to Adolf Hitler.

It would then confirm the real story of the Hindu, that the Hindus are political prisoners in Bhaarat.

Sonia or any other foreign person must not be at the top position in the country. Such persons would bring destruction of Bhaarat.
